Well, I've posted pictures of my Bushka Tribute Cue by Steve Klein on more than one occasion. It's my baby. Bushka specs to the letter. The only difference is that I asked Mr. Klein to use abalone instead of MOP for the inlays. I've played with quite a few Bushkas over the years, and this is as close as it gets...or is it?
Last week, a friend of mine made it possible for me to add an original Bushka shaft to the cue! It's in great condition and rolls very straight. The ferrule is polished ivory and the seam between the ferrule and the shaft can't be felt at all. The tip is pretty old and has a little glazing and still has the original black pad. The wood is aged and blue and I would imagine it has seen some time on a table. It is almost a full sized shaft at 12.85mm.
I took it to the poolroom and hit some balls with it yesterday. It feels like glass through your bridge hand! The hit was very firm and solid and the sound was literally musical. While it won't be my everyday playing shaft, due to the rarity, I can assure everyone it won't be a closet queen either. This shaft was made to play pool with.
A big thanks to my friend that helped me to obtain the shaft, too! He's a low key guy that wouldn't want any notoriety, but I sure appreciated his help! I seriously felt like a kid at Christmas hitting balls with this setup.
