Who is Mary Avina?? Trick Shots Videos

Met Mike Massey at one of his presentations here in Southern California this weekend I must say he is a credit to the sport. He also gave me a copy of his book an account that someone let him know I was a bit of a trick shot artist myself. To bad I did not see the whole thing since I was stuck in a tournament oh well next time.

What a coincidence, I met Mr Massey when he was here in Dallas. He saw that I had a custom made masse cue that matched my jump and bank cues. He handed me his book and said "Take this book, trick shot artists are a dying breed". Then he turned and walked away. When I opened the book, I saw that he wrote something in it. It said "To my best friend Dan, even though you can't shoot a trick shot to save your life, you sure have some nice cues." Since then, I have slept with that book under my pillow.

oh well . . .

Sounds like she is out there playing and working on her game. I haven't hit a ball or turned a piece of wood this year!

Not this sh1t again... :holdingface&grimacing:

I don't know. As Hu pointed out, Mary is out there working on her game and I'm sure Mary doing trick shots would hold my attention for more than a moment.

I didn't mean for my post to generate piling-on. That's not right and it's not fair. Mary's got a nice fan base and I wish her well.

Some of us even think we're good at sticking pins in a cushion.

Yeah, Eric, I thought it was apt that she pulled up this dead thread of self promotion to post yet another pic and proclaim that she is a "trick shot artist herself."

I actually played this girl Mary Avina in the first Sunday of the month tournament at Hard Times in December.

She missed two ball in hands, a couple of straight in shots, took at least 20 practice strokes sometimes and still missed and I'm not sure if she ever ran more than 2 balls all while using a stroke that is very elementary, basic and amateur-ish looking. She even missed a whole ball she was aiming to cut. I have seen skill level 3's or D players play better - and believe me, I am not overstating at all.

She even told me she had the same jump cue I did, even though mine is really rare and given to me at least 10 years ago by the cue maker himself. She told me he "gave her one too." Right.

I would never usually post this and keep it to myself but this girl is killing me with all this boastfulness. I wouldn't care if she played as bad as she did, came on here and posted to learn something. Love the game, share your love and tenacity to get better like everyone else on this forum. But constantly telling everyone who has no way of seeing you play that you are something you're not is just enough already.

;)

As long as she isn't making the women mad any longer, it's all dandy. This unique young lady obviously loves pool.

Joey, I think "The" Mary is a lightening rod for this crap (by her own doing). I'm looking for a cliche...reap what you "sew"? (sew goes with pin cushion.. )

Tina, I'm with ya here. I don't know about you, but I love dumping on arrogant ppl. It's a fun sport

Just to translate for anyone new...

Someone = Mary Avina

Mary Avina = Pathological Attention-Seeking Liar

Is it considered a trick shot if you throw a towel over a ball and make it disappear? That's my favorite at parties.

I'm sure you've all seen the one that her boyfriend is wearing in this picture. Cracks me up!

This series are my fav. Be sure to read the caption in the first one.

Look at her dress and the red blanket she used as a background and you'll notice that these two shots were taken right after each other. I don't know what's weirder - that someone would take a picture of herself after losing their dad, post said picture on facebook, or taking this succession of posed photos.

"Show me sad... yeah, like your dad just died... okay, now show me sexy... now show me arrogant for no reason... that's perfect! Say, do you have any tweezers so we can take care of those caterpillar eyebrows?"

You're correct in your assessment of her game. I saw her play for just a few minutes a couple of years ago in Riverside but didn't really pay much attention. At that time i thought she played ok but I think at that time i was looking at her more than as to how she played. If you know I mean. She is pleasant to look at.

However after reading more about her I had the opportunity to see her play a couple of times at the Hard Times the last two months. At no time did I see anything that would resemble a decent game. I can't see how she would be able to play a good game even on one of her best days. The biggest problem with her game is her mechanics and without good mechanics one will go nowhere.

It seems to me that she has not had any tutoring on what is most important. I'm talking about an uneven stroke, cue jacked up on routine shots, body positioning and other such details. If she reads this I hope she sees it a constructive criticism.

I'm Sorry I ever posted this Thread. When will someone actual catch and video Mary play in a tourney and post it. So Az can really see how she play!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mary, I am sorry your dad just died and you had to take a picture of yourself being sad and post it on Facebook.

But, I am glad you took a picture of you showing off your "STUFF" for a poster and postcard (kinda like a postcard I have from Switzerland, but its of a mountain, not of a woman flaunting her sex)....thats what pool needs, easy woman not afraid to show off thier bodies:rolleyes: It HAS to be good for pool
