That's a great idea, Jay. I spoke with Lt. Flowers this morning. He likes the idea too, and will get on it Jan. 4th after the holiday.

Once we get it on YouTube, then we can post a link on all the pool sites. That way they'll be able to see the guy's mannerisms, and the way he carries himself.

Ray, I'll ask the Lieutenant about that. Maybe I can get a copy of the clip. Otherwise, if it gets on YouTube, perhaps it can be copied from there.

This one's a little different than a stolen cue or a deal gone bad. A valued member of the pool community was murdered. We will never rest easy until the perpetrator is caught and made to face justice. Every time I think about Mike, my stomach turns. He didn't deserve this.
 
I first seen the person of interest on the bigtruck showand he looked like someone ive seen before I looked through my pool mags 2 c if i could remember where i seen him or someone that looks like him ,It has been on my mind since and i am still looking ,but i think it was on stream or a pool mag pic i only have inside pool and billiards digest,maybe team pictures in the mag but .dont know if its same guy ,ill b on the lookout GOD BLESS ...peteypooldude

I will continue to air stills of the suspect until he is caught. I think the video would be really good too!

Hopeful news

"America's Most Wanted' has made some initial inquiries regarding the Mike Surber murder story. They have interviewed the lead detective, Lt. Flowers, and they have asked for contact information for some of the witnesses to the suspect's activities. Hopefully we'll know within several weeks whether they'd like to select this story for documentation on their show.

So for now, the authorities will wait to post the video clip of the suspect taken from the surveillance video. Lt. Flowers said that he'd like to send it to YouTube and other forums within a couple of weeks. My best guess is that they'll wait to see what AMW wants to do with the clip.

Lt. flowers should tell AMW that the public (us) is clamoring for the entire video of the person of interest and want it to be placed on youtube.

Maybe that will put AMW in high gear. There interest in Mike's case is great news nevertheless.

Mike Surber deserved better. Most of us who knew Mike, knew what a great guy he was. I have yet to find even one acquaintance who had a single bad thing to say about Mike. In this world, that is a miracle. Mike could have easily been pool's poster boy.

Please tell Lt. Flowers thanks for keeping the torch burning.

I just got an email from someone who said: "I am sure I saw Jericho in Tucker Ga. a couple of weeks ago. I have contacted Biloxi & Ocean Springs Law enforcement with no response."

This guy was a friend of Mike's and had just heard of his death and was looking for information. I pointed him to the website JAM made and also several of these threads about Mike.

I just placed a call to Lt. Flowers to inquire about this and also to inquire about the status of our acquiring the video of the person of interest on www.mikesurber.com and other locations.

The Derby City Classic is upon us and Mike's memory is strongly related to it and I will be thinking about him and the manner in which he touched all those who knew him.

This is definitely a good idea since all we have to go on is his general description and an assumed alias. If a local LEO can get there in time, we can at least get the guy's real name, and possibly hold him for a time until the Ocean Springs Sheriff's Department can get in touch with them.

I left a message with Lt Flowers but he has not returned my phone call and it's been over 24 hours.

I don't understand the not returning phone calls. I hope he's got a good excuse for not returning the phone calls.

I spoke with Flowers earlier today. He said the lead they had from Sherman, TX turned out to not be the guy. Not even close, really. He said there was another "sighting" that they're following up. However they're delighted to pursue any lead, and they have meetings about this case daily.

I haven't heard anything from AMW. I mentioned to the Lieutenant that they probably tend to shy away from quick coverage of a case, simply because if the suspect is arrested, they've wasted all that production expense. Whereas if the case has ground to a halt after several months, they might be more inclined to spend the money for research and production. Flowers agreed that could be a factor.

What about the sighting in Tucker, Ga and the persone that swears he saw this person of interest?
