I played someone from dayton last year at fiddlestix in canton oh he beats me for 600. Since then i have asked him to play 4 or 5 times at different tournaments and he will not play. I was just wondering how many people would say no to someone they beat that they know will lose some money and have beat before.

Did he beat you bad or was it very close? Maybe he sees that you have gotten a lot better and can't beat you now. He's still a nit. Johnnyt

It's kind of an unwritten law... to give a guy a chance to win his money back, Isn't it?

There is no honor among thieves and from what I have seen around here is that unless they know they can win, they want the world. Trying to make the game right is one thing , Stealing or trying to is something else. Remember this ..if you gamble by necessity , you will pay by obligation.

I get what you're saying.

i asked him to play the very next week he didnt run me over but it wasnt that close

I've never won cash and then not play someone again...ever. I don't care if they had a bad day or what and I know it'll be a rough go of it next time. If I win someone's cash--- they can step right up again as far as I'm concerned.

God, that's so nitty I feel as though i have to close my laptop and forget I read that. I almost have to think there's something else going on... like the guy doesn't have $ or there was a death in the family. Otherwise, it just don't compute.

I have a feeling he knows he escaped. You keep asking him to play because you obviously performed badly and you want the money he is holding for you back:wink:. He got the wire you are stealing and he got lucky. I think you are screwed and he has got you stuck 600 for life.

Advice: Stop asking him to play and let him think you are scared that way maybe he will get a little heart and think he is the favorite again. Or if you really are the favorite you may have to embarass him to play you by offering a little weight to a man that beat you even. Good luck getting your money back.

I am not much of a gambler.....and have no idea what the "proper" etiquette as it pertains to pool wagers might be. On the rare occasions that I do play for money, I and my opponent will agree on the wager and the rules of play. A requirement for " a chance to get even" has never been a part of any wager I have made.....nor has it ever been offered to me at the onset of a match. It is my right to play whom I want, for as much as I want. I understand and accept that this is a one time agreement with no promises of future wagers being made or implied. I nor my opponent have any obligation, moral or otherwise, to play again, regardless of the outcome.

I have done this before. I beat a guy out of some cash and will NEVER give him a chance at getting it back.

He was friendly while the game was on, but as soon as it was over he turned into a huge A-hole and said things like "You better rob a bank and come back so I can bust your a$$!".

Sorry bro, no more action from me.

Personally, I ONLY like to play the guys Ive already beaten!

Another thing is, if you keep repeatedly asking him to play he might find you annoying. If that's the case he doesn't want the hassle. He's thinking this is how he is stuck $600, how's he gonna act stuck $1200 and so on. A lot of matching up is wanting to be around the guy you are playing. So if he thinks youre not a good guy and you get on his nerves, you are probably way towards the bottom of his action list.
