How important is for you how you look when u enter a pool room?

Does it matter?>What is your favourite attire for playing?>

i dress comfortable at all times. when i enter a pool room i make sure i'm wearing comfortable shoes and dress as low key as possible. it's all about comfort!

i try to look like i don't have any money at all. that's not just because i don't have any money on me at all either.

i could care less. yesterday and today i showed up for a fairly important tournament (for me) in cargo shorts, tee shirt and sneakers. i haven't shaved in a week so i got the nice beard flowin and normanlly i have a flat top but today, well let's just say it's rough. i played lights out last night, so-so today. i've played well in a shirt and tie and dogged it in a pair of my favorite shorts and vans sneakers.

I'm old school unless you are doing something that requires some what grubby clothes(fishing, fixing the car, yard work etc.) I think whenever you present yourself to the world you should look good. And no i am not gay.

I was told it's ok if your poor ..just don't dress poorly..

Ever see mountain man's attire?

I always wear Nike tracksuits... I like to be real comfortable when I play.

You would think he was a hobo. But he sure the hell does not play like one.
Shoe laces untied, flannel shirt hangin out, mismatched shirt. If he gets HOT he cuts back to the wife beater. How is that for tournament attire.

Usually something comfortable because anything starchy or long sleeve seems to affect my game where my stroke doesn't seem so fluid... T-shirt or polo with jeans is usually what I would wear.

I prefer to dress very casual and relaxed......t-shirt, shorts, comfortable shoes.....on the rare occasion I have to show up dressed well, I usually get treated like an ATM and approached for various games I got zero hope of winning....

Wear my poker shirts to a pool room and my pool shirts to a poker room. Generally is a good thing in both spots.

Monto,
You've seen what I wear into pool rooms many times, usually jeans and a short sleeve shirt with a collar.

I would say that pool rooms in Asia are a little more formal. You see more T-Shirts here in the USA.

I wanna look semi-formal or sporty when I walk into a tourney but if it's regular APA team night who gives a f*ck..

If you're gay, it's damned important. If you're like the rest of us, it doesn't matter.

If thinking someone is gay because they want to dress nice makes you feel better about being a slob so be it. I don't see why a man wanting to have a clean image is a bad thing. Maybe I've been in Japan too long but for any kind of league play or tournament I find it appalling that anyone would show up in shorts, sandals, unshaven, ball cap, ipod what have you. If it's *any* kind of tournament play I think you should dress nice. You don't have to wear a suit and tie but there is a huge difference between a fresh pair of jeans and an old raggy pair. For the top I think a polo type shirt should be the minimum.

As for regular play, yeah, I guess it's up to each person. If you, figuratively speaking, want to go into a pool room looking like a slovenly, sloppy bum then so be it. Myself, I want to look nice when I go out in public. No, I'm not the type of person that gets my eyebrows shaped when I get my haircut, but I'm always presentable. Probably the worst part of my public appearance is I'll lay of shaving for a few days. But my beard doesn't get all scraggly looking anyway so it's not big deal. You can call me gay all you want but let's be real, the women in the pool room are going to pay more attention to me than someone dressed like they just came out of the coal mine.

It's not how you look, it's how you play!!!

I guess it depends on the event. Jeans and a t-shirt are usually the most comfortable for me to play in.

I like the casual atmosphere of pool. The best player in our "room" plays in his bare socks. I just recently took out from the library an old Snooker book printed in Britain and all the players in it looked like English Butlers.

Let me see if I can sort through some of this.
I played some one pocket today and none of the guys looked overly slovenly, although one of the fellows was a bit sloppy.
You're the first to mention it, but men get their eyebrows shaped?
And just for the record, no one called you gay, and chicks dig coal miners. Especially on payday.

Yeah, it's sad. Really sad. I was sitting there in the chair one day and they started in on this guys eyebrows and I was just staring like "WTF?!?" so the girl asks me "You want me to do your eyebrows?" and, in full voice so the guy getting his done could hear me too, I said "No, thanks, I'm a man." You'd be surprised at what some of these young ass clowns do these days. I totally understand what someone meant by "If you're gay....." but I think there's a huge difference between wanting to look nice and being gay. Guys that go so far as to have their face exfoliated and their eyebrows shaved have taken it to the next level in my opinion.....and possibly a level even higher, or lower, than that. Sad, just sad!!
