No offense, but they are not even close. Like JoeyinCali indicates, only a cue with similar taper will be close.

A wood to wood joint and similar pin, are not the only ingredients to a SW feel.

Joey nailed it. I've played with a ton of different cues. I even owned a Franklin SW. The one cue that played extremely similar was a Bluegrass.

I have been told by a die hard South West fan that his WilleeCue plays better than a SW ... In His Humble Opinion of course.

He used to own several SW cues ... he now owns none!

I use a modified SW taper profile, 3/8 x 10 pin, wood to wood flat face joint.

We can start with taper.
If some cue dealer tells you so and so cue hits like a SW but it has a much different taper, he's full of kaka.

I agree 100%. I have played with a Southwest, and I do like them, but a Scruggs feels much better to me. Of course its all subjective anyhow.
