I think this is what happens to Chris when he gets a good looking girl in his sights.

Make sure to fast forward to 3 minutes into the cartoon and watch till minute 4 to see exactly how Chris reacts when in the presence of a certain type of female.

I can't believe the nuggets you got SS. I watched that video and you seem to be saying one of our resident pool studs likes trannies?

It IS a tough forum crowd today.

;)

so now you are saying i can play?

lol
does she play like you guys are saying or are you just haters?

Well, I've watched all of her youtube videos and her high run is 2 or 3. I'm not hating, I love the girl. I'm just saying she's no champion, that's all.

TRUST, if I ever meet the girl and she doesn't hate me for saying she's not a champion, I'd like to get to know her better. Ya know :)

All i'm saying is she is no World Champion on the Pool table.

Is she a world champion in the hair department? Of course.
Is she a world champion in the smile department? Um, YEAH!
Is she a world champion in the body department? (please refer to the video posted about C.B.'s reaction to beautiful women and make that universal)
Is she probably a world champion in other departments? Probably.

So if you are gonna say it, say it right, don't misrepresent it. That's all.

nothing wrong with that.

This thread baffles me.

We complain day in and day out on this forum about not being able to get outside sponsors for pool, and as soon as we do, most people can't wait to talk sh*t.

Give the girl a break. She may not play well, but she's trying. It's positive exposure for our sport, and she's perhaps one of the only players to get a real pay day this year. We should all be proud.

maybe it baffles u because u dont even understand why people are complaining. first of all, the ads are't aimed at sponsoring pool. they're promoting their own product by creating an ad with false information. they aren't sponsoring anything pool related, they are calling her a champion.

and trust me, it might seem cool to have a spokesperson for pool being brought into the mainstream media but when some random guy sees her play and is under the impression that she is a champion, it makes pool look bad. cuz if she's a world champion then most people can be too with a month of practice. makes pool look like a joke.

maybee you guys dont understand the word "Champion"

if you win any one contest...it could be against blind folk....your still considered Champion of that event. maybee she won some tourneys on a local level in Philipenes or Guam whrever shes from.
and"Champion" doesnt necesarrily mean someone that wins either.

i know if i played her id probably loose the game....but id make a wager that the winner buys the looser a beer and the looser buys the winner dinner...i win either way.

if she won any touny worth mentioning then rest assured it would have been posted on here since many people are shannelle fans. and winning a local tourny doesnt qualify u as a champion.

champion in this sense means success as a pool player since they identified her as a pool champion. if u dont win a championship (i.e. a tourny like world pool championship) then u dont get to call urself a champion. either way, she is not a pool champion. she is a pool player.

really? cuz honestly she doesnt seem to be able to run more than 6 balls..and thats under optimum conditions. i'm sure she'll get better in time, but as of right now shes not very good...

If it truly is a mainstream ad, most people seeing the ad won't know the difference about how well she plays or not. And anyone seeing the ad that does understand pool should simply laugh about the supposed "champion". It's really no big deal. Its marketing. Happens all the time. Ever see ads for movies? Each and every one has a blurb saying how it's on some critics best list or had some great review or some such. Spin it so you can sell it.

How many Indy car Races has Danica Patrick won? One, in Japan maybe? Does winning one race make someone a champion? Don't they have to be the best at the end of the season for that title? Does this minimize her marketing appeal? Are there not dozens of more successful race car drivers out there who would be more of a "champion" than Danica? hmmmmmm, whaddaya mean, they don't look as good as her?

Stop worrying about the label "champion"? Maybe she's the top of her local bar league or something. It doesn't hurt anyone. It doesn't minimize Allison, or Jeanette or Jasmin or anyone. They're the champs, and anyone who cares about pool already knows this. She doesn't make pool look like a joke. Maybe the clients who advertise her as a champ, but not pool itself.

She does look fine, doesn't she? :p

Sex sells anything especially billiards,

Im all in for the womens stuff- what about Janet Lee- why do you think she got the tit job? doesn't help stroke the ball any how- but now she will find out if your wood is dead! I'd love to become a billiards coach for all the pretty ,busted players in the world.(colleges think about it.) A teacher- go give her some lessons and she'll get better like all the rest of the women did. I'll bet all the talkers her don't have the nuts to speak with her- just like derby city 07 with alison Fisher. Look at her billiards team NYC grind.mark

You're are quoting definintions of "champion" used as an adjective or as a verb, which is used very, very rare like "Hercules is a champion fighter" It means Hercules is exceptionally good. "champion" modifies the noun "fighter"

"Shanelle is a billiards champion" - Champion is used as a noun, and in that definition, champion really means a winner in some sort of event, which Shanelle is NOT!

From wiktionary:

Noun

1. Someone who has been winner in a contest.
2. Someone who is chosen to represent a group of people in a contest.

[show ▼]someone who has been winner in a contest

[edit] Adjective

champion

1. (attributive) Acting as a champion; that has defeated all one's competitors.
2. (attributive) Excellent; beyond compare.
3. (predicative)) (Ireland, colloquial) Excellent; superb; deserving of high praise.

"That roller coaster was champion," laughed Vinny.

Jeanette

Personally, I think Jeanette's sexier, more cool to hang out with, more sincere, more down to earth, and has a much better personality than Island Barbie. She's at least 2 balls better in all the above. Just my opinion.

Of course the ad isnt aimed at sponsoring pool. Do you honestly think some big conglomerate is going to just show up in the pool world and throw money at us in hopes of promoting our sport? Of course not. They spend money to make money, by advertising their product. It's basic capitalism 101.

Apparently this company feels that pool is a good way to reach a new demographic. It's not as good as direct exposure, but it's a compromise; one that I feel is certainly better than nothing. Our sport gets exposure, and one of our players gets a proper pay day for a change.

As for Shanelle being a Champion, I agree that it's a bit a stretch, but again, compromises must be made.
