My guess is that's not the start. My faulty memory tells me that when Mike revamped the site, all of us had to re-register.Bob, Mike's (AzHousePro) join date says Mar2003. I gather, that should be the start.

I remember being here starting in the late 90's.
late 90s for me. AZ forums has been thru at least 3 changes maybe 4 in the last 10+ years

I'm not sure you can if it was before the format changed. As I recall back in 2002 or 2003 the site was crashing and there were upgrades made and I think many threads were lost. My first thread was titled Buzz in da Butt and it is gone for good.

I remember being on Azbilliards around 1998-1999. Prior to that, I remember most of us being at RSB and ASP, then playpool.com.
IIRC,In March of 2003, Mike installed new forum software, and he was not able to save the post archive (I think). I do remember all of us having to re-register, which is why many of us have March of 2003 as our sign up date. However, as Tom and Fred have already stated, some of us have been here since wayyyy before then.

yup...i remember Fred and blackjack from way back in the day....

I am back in El Paso. My ex-wife passed away in October, and I moved back here to be with my sons. I don't see any pool related trips being planned in the near future - it will take a while for things to settle down and get back to being "as normal as they can be". It is great to see 14.1 being added to the line-up at SBE - I hope you have a blast!
David, i really wished you could make it. i look forward to meeting with you some day. maybe shootin a nice LONG game of 14.1 No Count Style !

I was a regular at CCB but was on az and playpool some back about 1999 and re-registered in 2003.
When I started this post I was talking about this site not Mike's old Az one.I guess 03 was when he did the transfer.It has really taken off and has become the #1 site for pool. A big thanks goes to Mike.
I remember visiting the site, and reading things on it well before registering in 2005. Or maybe I was registered before and re-registered...I can't remember. But it's been 5+ years for me.
How time flies when you're having fun, huh?
And many of you were here well before that.
Does anyone know the rate of growth? How many new joiners per year up til now? And I wonder if many people heard via word of mouth, or just surfing the net?

And think about it....can you imagine life without AZB??? :yikes: :yikes: (difficult for me to imagine!)

This site most definitely improves the quality of my life.
I've made friends that I'd never heard of and have never met... and despite having never met I believe that several are real friends. The one's I have met have become part of my life.
