What was your first keeper cue?

Ok so what I am asking is what was the first cue that you bought, that you never intended to get rid of? The cue that you would never sell. Mine is a cue that I bought on here in April of '09. It is an older Jacoby J-16. I don't think I will ever sell this cue. In fact I think I am gonna add on to it by purchasing another shaft from Jacoby. And did you sell your keeper cue, and if so how badly do you regret it?

My 1st "keeper" was an old National that was stolen in the early 70s. It was really thin w/like a 11.5mm shaft.

My second "keeper" and still kept, is my Schrager he made for me in the early 90s.

my first never going get rid of cue

Well my first true cue I played with was a meucci original. It was a simple stained maple and clear coated wrap. However, I had a friend who owned the local pool hall, and I was thinking of getting something different. He showed me his Scruggs SP, I fell in love from there. I have 3 now and will never get rid of them. I even told my wife that I will either be buried with them or the kids take them.

i still have my black meucci european series. i have my custom now but that meucci isn't going any where i have had it since round about 86 or 87, somewhere in that neighborhood.

I have it posted in another thread

The first is my 1985 Clay Etheridge Hustler Cue made to my spec's. It is in the thread posted today about what constitutes a custom cue. Go there for the pics. I've seen some here that go all the way back to the 60's.

I still have my first cue, A used Viking that I purchased in 1986. I think it was about several years old when I got it.

Old Huebler sneaky pete. Though it is not my main player, i still take it out for a game now and then. Defiantly a keeper.

only cue I can never imagine getting rid of is my current sugartree. Everything else I buy is for sale for the right price. Just a fact of life with me, if I need money cues go.

Having said that I hope never to sell another cue that I've had made the way I wanted. The Mason cue I have is perfect for me, and really hope to never sell it. Have a cue coming from Joey Bautista that would make me very upset to sell, will have some of the prettiest birdseye I've ever seen and is something that I've wanted for awhile.

Every cue I've ever bought I've had no intention of letting go of. The first one happened to be a McDermott RS-7.

My first "keeper" was an old Abe Rich cue I bought in 1972(Still got it). Since then, 13 Gus', 2 Bushkas, 5 SW, 1 Kersenbrock and a sh!tload of Sherm Cues (that I've sold)! Now... I have 1 cue I made for David Howard, 2 I made for Gary Spaeth, and 1 for Landon Shuffet that I'll probably hang on to!

Still got'r and have NO intentions of parting with her.

Nice Cue

Still got'r and have NO intentions of parting with her.

That was my first SW. A pool player friend was going to Vegas about 20 years ago and I told him to get me a nice SW.

I gave him $1,500 and he brought back that cue & some change. I played with it for about 10 years until they made me my custom ivory cue.

Glad it has a good home. It looks & plays fantastic!

First real "keeper" was a Herman Rambow I carried all through my 8 yrs. in the Navy. It was stolen in 1970.

My all time favorite was my personalized Palmer Model "M", which was stolen in 1981. It had my name in the "window".
