I was in the airport in the booming metropolis of Lynchburg, VA yesterday and they were searching through my luggage in front of me before sending it to the plane. I pack my cue in my pelican case that I used for my M4 while in the military. It offers amazing protection!

So the TSA chick looks at my cue case inside the pelican case and asks "What's that? A fishing pole?" I said "Nah that's a pool stick." Then I explain to her that I pack it like that since I cannot carry it on board anymore since everyone got so sensitive after 911....thanks alot Bin Laden!

Then she says that it's cool now because common sense tells everyone that I cannot take out an entire plane full of people with a pool stick. I reply "Wanna bet?". She didn't think that was funny, but continued explaining that now you can carry on pool sticks, knitting needles (really???), and other items that were formerly banned.

Does anybody have any info on this? Was she just a dumbass? I will continue to pack mine the same way, but thought it might be interesting for others.

It would be nice if that had changed. Maybe she was just being a smart alec???

The last part of your signature is intentionally hurtful and just plain ugly. Its as bad as name-calling, as far as I'm concerned, and if Roy Steffenson truly said that about CC, then he's just as bad. You'd think you guys might have something better to do with your time than bully others.

Easy-E is a terrible person. He also hates puppies and old people. Roy is Norwegian so that pretty much tells you all you need to know.

When i was overseas i couldnt bring a catapult on the plane either.......No Joke it was on the list of things you couldnt carry on....LOL

Cues must go under the plane.. I too wish they changed the polices.

Maybe I didn't explain it right. She told me flat out that I could carry my cue on that morning. If I get it on the first plane, I get in on the rest of the flights that day. How can one airport let me on but not the rest? TSA is dumb.

I was told the same thing here in Canada (at baggage check in)... I go to the next security section and when I put the cue on the Xray machine, it was like I had a bomb. I got escorted out to the baggage area. Had to check cue and go back to security area, the delay caused me to missed flight (6pm)!!! That was the last flight for the night and couldn't get another until 10am next day.

My cue was checked and on the flight I missed. Lucky cause I would have beat the clerk with it until 10am.

I honestly have ZERO DESIRE to ever fly again, after see the TSA in action they remind me of this group.

Flying home from the Derby I accidentally left my knife in my carry on, its a fixed blade commando knife thats 8" long in a hard plastic sheth on a string I wear around my neck. There were 12 TSA people, me and Kelly. 2 people looking at the monitor and it went right through past them. I didnt realize I carried it in the carry on until I got home. 12 agents on our dime and I walk right on with a knife a big obvious one at that.

TSA=lazy over paid usless Govt employees with benefits, and we cant put kids in college in this country, were heading in a great direction.

It's a nasty world we live in today and there are a lot of bad people out there. I read the list of items on the link provided by Dead Crab and I have to agree that they could be used as weapons. I'm not a pollyanna but if that keeps us safe, then so be it.

It's quite simple, If you don't like it, don't fly. Take the bus. Cya you in two weeks!! Maybe you might sit next to a just released convict. Happy trails. I fly all the time with no problems.

By the way, you dont hear the pros complain about checking there cues.

It is what it is!

easy-e, I understand how you feel.

After talking to friends. All passenger say, I made it thur (insert your airport here).

This is the third time I have heard someone mention that they have been told that they can bring a pool cue on the plane in the past two months.

Oh yeah and for the record, my pal, Roy Steffensen from Norway would never say anything that would irritate anyone.

That mean-spirited Roy Steffenson guy you quote in your signature may be related to Nasty Napoleon from Sweden.

I saw that the TSA allows 7" tools to be carried on board. My dad was a security guard on the river front and one of his tools he used was a 7" blackjack. hmmmm...

I'm able to bring my cues on the plane when I fly from Samui (the small Thai island where I live) to Bangkok- they always ask me at the x-ray counter what's in the case, and I say, "A snooker cue" (they don't get "pool cue")- it's never a problem.

I like knowing the cues are just above my head rather than (possibly) under a few hundred pounds of other people's baggage.;)
