Fancy linen-roll bucket ?

I've seen quite a few holders that are offered from various suppliers, Sometimes it pays to be smarter than the material your working with, Basically something that looks like a toilet paper holder, two different size rods to accommodate the large and small hole spools, 4 inches away, an eye centered, can do it out of phenolic, it works fine, WA-LA, pulls from the middle every time, doesn't fall off the spool. Doesn't matter how fast you wrap either. It doesn't have to be near the machine either, mine is 4 feet away mounted to the bench.
 
I have a fairly complex method of holding my linen. After many approaches I have settled with one. I just throw it in the floor and let it unroll however it comes off. Patent pending :thumbup:

It's a minor problem when i use linen wraps..I just throw it in a small box, and let it roll until it finish...Open for copy..:thumbup:

I don't know if you are just being funny but it should come straight off the roll and not get all twisted as it could spinning around on the floor. I just have it mounted above the bench and it runs through a series of eyes. I can change color by just taking a different roll and feeding it through. It also goes through a tensioner I made so it can't go slack on me and goes on with a even tension.

I use a toilet roll dispencer. Easy on, easy off. Out of the way when not in use.
 
I just have the roll spinning on a holder and run the linen thru an 1/8 inch rubber tube about 2.5 feet long, it rolls right off and never tangles.

Seems a bit hypocritical to me..You can't see mine but show me yours?

What little bit of linen I do mess with I have found that the flange-less spools do come off the end of the spool on a set-up like what your are talking about but won't show pictures of better!

Sewing machines have thread tensioners on them. Wondering if you found one at a yard sale, you could incorporate that into your setup.

I had problems with spools from Atlas twisting and knotting up ... I made a large spool 14" in diameter and it will hold 5 different flavors ... Cured the twisting somewhat ... It rolls on teflon bushings which make it smooth as butter but with just enough tension ...:cool:
