There is a thread asking how many racks you have ran which makes me wonder how many racks have you had ran on you? Top one, or top three if your memory is good!

I was down three games before I picked up a stick once but that was called pocket on the break. Guy wasn't that lucky, he went on to be the player of that decade or the next. Actual break and runs the most I can remember is two, seems like three might be possible but I'm not sure and I spent a ton of time on bar tables. Most I have seen in person is seven racks of eight ball following a run out on the other person's dry break. Worked well for me, I was shooting partners with the guy that ran the seven racks. He ran halfway through the next rack and left me an easy three or four balls to clean up.

This is a great question. When I got back from my duty station overseas, I thought I was the best player around. My parents lived in Denver and I learned of a tournament being run at one of the rooms (I can't remember the name but I remember someone saying Reyes liked to play there).

Anyway, I broke dry, my opponent ran.
He broke dry, I ran 2 balls and choked and he ran.
He then proceed to run 9 and out. (2 nine breaks)

It was quite the lesson and taught me that there are a ton of people out there better than you. Overall it was a good experience.

6 on the bar table

That included 2 niners on the breakers. I was up 3-0 in a race to 7 and I didn't get another shot.

I missed a, makeable, 4-9 combination leading 8-4, going to 9, against Mike Zuglan in the finals of a tournament and never shot again.

I still have nightmares over that one.

I think Toby Sweet might have layed a five or six pack on me playing for $100 a rack. It happened so fast, it was a blurr.

Oh man Tom, you just reminded me. I was in a 14.1 tourney playing to 100, I was up 71 to 30 something. I missed what I thought was a wired break shot. Lost 100 to 71.

THANKS FOR BRINGING THAT ONE BACK UP FOR ME!!!!!

At the Derby City Classic (9-Ball), I missed the 3-ball in the opening rack of my match with Brian Groce...and got out of my chair only to shake his hand after he ran the set on me

In the IPT NA Open (8-Ball), I was ahead of Alex Pagulayan 4-3 (race to eight), broke dry, and got up again only to shake his hand...

When I was in college I played a Phx local who agreed to spot me the 6 out in an 8 ahead. (thought this was a great game) Unfortunately, I lost the flip and that was all she wrote. learned a tough lesson. If you don't shoot the spot does not matter. :) On the plus side we became friends and traveled together for years.

On a regular 9' table it was Richiec Richeson. I had him 6-1 going to 7 in 9-ball and choked on the 8 ball. He ran that game out and 5 racks and out after that. Johnnyt

After 4 games it was all square at a deuce apiece between JA and i. It should have been 4 to zip my way but playing HIM put a severe hitch in my giddy-up.

He proceeded to run the set, to 9, out.

His break, when your at table level, is awesome. i swear the balls were flying around the table leaving tracers until at least a couple found pockets.:)

Alley-oop put a 5 or 6 on me in a very slow, methodical manner. He could play...

heard of

I have heard from a few people around here, about a bet on a 6' bar box. a road player was asked how often he could run out 8-ball, he responded 50% of the time. If I recall the story correctly the bet was for a $1000 he had to break and run out 50 times in a 100 games, I beleive it lasted until the 75th game and he took the cheese.

i was playing an 8Ball tournament in my home town an me an Erman bullard was practicing an he broke an ran 7 racks of 8ball on me back to back

then in another 8ball tournament in my home town buster merchant won first i come out second he asked me to gamble so i said sure give me the 7 last 3 winner breaks race to 9 for 200$ i break an run 4-5racks i play a safe long rail to long rail he cuts it in an break an runs the set lol pretty awsome to watch good thing someone was backing me

I once had a guy win two sets of nine ball in a row (race to 5) without me shooting. There were a few combos and snaps, but mostly he ran out. The best part is that he did that to get even from the two sets I had him stuck and then he quit (I was getting weight).

Is it my turn yet?

Tournament - race to 11 - on a 9ft
I broke dry leading 10-4
Never shot again
It was painless-if you're going to lose, not a bad way to go

Fu@#ing Rudolfo missed only one ball in a race to 9 on me. Yeah, I gutted up and played again. Luat beat me that set missing again only once on the barbox. I'm pretty sure there was an eight in there once.

Mike Fuller beat me 9-1 running the last eight. Hey, fu#$ it. I was tied at 1-1, then broke dry. Eight later, and I was sheepishly shaking his hand. Gold Crown IV.

In White Plains, N.Y., Mt.Vernon Tommy broke and ran the first 5&1/2 racks race to 7 lost 7-1....in Branford, CT. Ginky beat me in race to 9 and ran 5 in there somewhere, oh but I got 3 chances to break out of "prison" and failed each time, losing 9-0. damm I shoulda kicked him instead of the looking stupid...lol

Tournament in Laval Quebec.
B side match. Race to 9.
I won the lag, broke dry. Never touched the table again.
Darned if I can remember the guy's name. Martin I think.
Great to watch, painful to live.

I was in a practice session with a guy in seattle that put a five pack on me without ever picking up his playing cue. Five 9's on the snap in a row and the sixth time it hung in the jaws. He was up 5-0 and hadn't had to shoot a ball yet!! My coach said "practice your lag"!!!!!
