I also have a big problem with people like Wedge saying that KOD has done more to promote the sport than people such as the TAR crew and Mark Griffin have done. That is just asinine. I don't doubt that KOD has helped to promote the sport as much as they can, but TAR and Mark Griffin (as well as the others I've mentioned in this thread such as Greg Sullivan, Shannon Daulton and Jay Helfert) and light years ahead of any other group or organization when it comes to promoting pool. Mr. Nova
Demonstrates you're a member of what keeps holding pool back: little brains. I view Mark Griffin as the current hope to drag pool out of the mud but everything else you mention is pretty much crap. That is unless you think pool has in any way shape or form been successful in the slightest at becoming a popular sport to the mainstream in this country. Or a financially successful one. Or even one that can get on the lowest common denominator: cable television.
It's been a complete failure on both counts and has gone backwards from the days of even wide world of sports. So if that's successful promotion maybe you need to check in with some definitions of success.
Good stories are what can help pool. This is a good story. You should be thanking these people instead of belittling them. What has been called promotion of pool has not worked. It's now getting better with Mr. Griffin but to dismiss these women pool players as you have is about the stupidest thing you can do for pool. But then you're a legend.
