just for arguments sake if you put together a 5 person team from each state and your playing barbox 8 ball, race to 7, double elimination,tournament format which state comes out on top?

Too broad of a question. Quantify whether the teams are amateur or pro, or a mix, first (and what defines pro vs. amateur?). Then, what rules are you playing by (that makes a difference). There are lots of other variables, but that's a start to be even able to GUESS at your question.

Didn't see barbox 8 ball in the beginning. I will go with New York for the long haul.

Are these from people who were born in the state, call the state home, or play in the state most often?

Florida has a ton of talent playing there, but not sure how many would call there home.
 
Bar Box??? Why not a 5 x10 with 4 inch pockets instead?? Now that i would watch!!!
 
Some rich guy should add some nice money. Then someone should set up a Nationals type tournament.

Represent your state with 5 man teams like all us regular players play. So there is 50 teams, whos the best !

Would you have to have a qualifer ?
State ranking ?
Voting system ?

Should it be multiple teams from each state?
 
I would say Minnesota...too many national champions that play great barbox 8-ball up there! The problem is that there is nothing else to do in the winters up there but play pool :)
 
Wisconsin has a strong record at BCA nationals. Texas does too. It's not a state, but someone else mentioned East Moline and it's hard to argue with that are. About a year and a half ago I would have said the Greenville, SC area (when Nevel, Strickland, Owen, Daulton and Brian White all lived there) but that was a year and a half ago. Florida, New York, Minnesota and California could all be on the list too. It's really too hard to say. It would be a cool concept though for all 50 states to put together a team and see though.
 
At one time....Johnny Archer, Luther Lassiter, Tony Watson, Earl Strickland, Mike Coltrain, Allison Fisher, Cliff Joyner, Harold Dollar, Sparky Ferrell, BJ Ussery, Mike Fuller, all lived within a three hour radius of here. There's a ton more, but imagine that team. Hell, there's fifty more JUST under a few of those that are still here. Imagine Cliff having to "sit the bench."

As you know since Montana is your old stomping ground, everything here is bar box. Jeff Boucher & Danny Hamper asked me if I would play on their 4 man team for the Billing's Players Open. Never played in Billings before, had a good time with them and won the thing as the "All Madden Team".
 
Good for you Jack! :thumbup: Lotsa good players in that event. Who was the 4th (I'd guess Seth)? Didja win a few simollians in the calcutta too? Word is Jeff hasn't been playing league any more (at least VNEA). Obviously it hasn't affected his game! :D
