sure ill pick the table and you can get it.
no thanks on that.
sure ill pick the table and you can get it.
john you just said how you won all these titles.
how can i play you even?
i have never won a title and prolly wont.
so i need a big spot from you the last 2 we can play.
alright goofball ill make a valid point.ill play your hero 14.1 even though hes ran over 200 etc.
i dont want it to bore him and feel like a practice game so we can bet at least 10,000.
funny thing is any game is a practice game until you put money on it.
hey i noticed your avatar says bet something so why dont you try it. ill give you a little sweat bet of like 2000 if larry plays.
come on are you for real on this?
ronnie or efren wow jay
come on efren would bust him 7 days a week and twice on sunday.
No way Sigel played all three games better than Nick....Who has more world titles? Does any American player even come close to Nick in World Titles??
Also, Nick went to the Philippines and beat Efren in his prime in an Exhibition match...
I think this is a classic case of misconception... Most people think the flashy player is a little better than somebody people consider boring to watch...which most people do consider Nick boring...but that is only because he never shoots hard shots...
Sigel couldn't control the white ball like Nick...and not many people did or even do now...
If Sigel was locked in a room with Nick for a week and they had to play One-Pocket, 9-ball, 15 ball banks, 8-ball, and Straight pool...he would be on the losing side..IMO...
He is only a favorite in maybe 1 game...and a coin flip in another...but a clear dog in 1 pocket, banks, and 8 ball..
Can you not read? NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY YOUR ****ING PRACTICE GAME! You obviously think you're such a superior player that playing an all-around where you can pick the 3 games off a list consisting of 9 or 10-ball, 8-ball, one-pocket and banks should be a lock for you. You should jump at the chance to play that way! You should be in your car and be on your way to Vegas now so you can find a table, unpack your cues and wait for Larry to arrive.
And I still want to know what titles count towards your bet of who's won more between you and Larry.
Wow! All this woofing is great.
Here is what i wish could happen. Somebody with a lot of money puts up a 1 million dollar winner takes all at 9 ball , one pocket and 14.1. Open to all players period. Give 6 months or a years notice so players could learn the games they don't normally play and others to get in stroke. I think people like Mr. Real Bartram might just try to learn the game of 14.1 better if a million was on the line.
As far as who is the best player all around you could argue this for ever and not come to a conclusion. But for the big cash i would take Lassiter.
Sigel won more tournaments during Nick's prime. And Nick was playing in them. I'm talking major tournaments too. We can bet on that. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble. Nick was a great player, but Sigel was better.
No one was more accurate than Sigel. He missed fewer balls by far than any other player. No one else even close. Not Buddy, not Mizerak, not Earl, and not Nick. Mike could play entire tournaments nearly error free. Maybe one mistake or miss per match. That's why he was winning everything!
By the way, Nick and Mike were great friends with utmost respect for each other. Maybe Mike's only close friend on tour.
i won titles in 14.1 .1hole and 9ball and 10ball.
maybe i should give you the equivalent of the last 2 in those 3 games.
say 25 to 200 14.1
9-8 1hole
last 2 9ball
last 2 10ball.
since you feel like you play just a fraction under me why dont you try those games im sure youll do fine.
actually forget the 14.1 i want to play you games you understand.
Chris you're a pretty smart cookie yourself and a damn good gambler. BUT, you don't know pool quite as well as you think you do. Efren in his prime against Ronnie in his prime would have been no contest. But it wouldn't come out the way you think. Overall Ronnie was the superior player. I won't go into all the reasons why, but he was.
Ronnie claims today that Efren is the best he ever saw, but Ronnie was never one to brag. I will say this, Ronnie knew things about One Pocket that will be lost when he's gone. He had moves to "funnel" balls toward his pocket that no one knows or shoots today. NO ONE! He could escape traps with two and three rail kicks that are never seen or shot at today.
His ability to shoot off angle combinations, find dead balls in the pack, and make crazy billiard shots may never be seen again. No one could read the pack better than Ronnie. Efren isn't even close there. One more big plus was that Ronnie NEVER missed a ball to win a big game or a big match. He was fearless under pressure, the bigger the bet the better he played. You would have really enjoyed seeing him play. You wouldn't be able to take your eyes off him. No one could.
Plus he was entertaining as hell, with a gift of gab unmatched this side of Keith McCready. And when he turned that conversation on, his game went up a ball and his opponents went down a ball. Add all these things up, and you'll see why he was the top dog in One Pocket for twenty years or more.
One last thing Chris, Ronnie was a grinder like you. He was always giving up the nuts, so he had to play a long time to get the money. God bless Efren, but he has some quit in him. I've seen it. Get him down a few games and he's looking for the door. Get Ronnie down and he wants to raise the bet. You would have liked him, a lot! Back then.
i cant win no matter what i say,you are a jealous hater obviously.
how about this ill play larry and anytime one of us cusses ,throws balls or slams cue or fist we get fined 5000. would you like to stake him that way lol.
you need to pick your heros better .

I'm not jealous at all. And as for being a hater, yep, I can't stand you. You jump in this thread and say negative shit about Larry and you obviously think you're so much better than he is yet you won't actually play him. The best part about you is you make up stupid ****ing excuses to not play. My favorite will always be when you said your backer will only allow you to play in California but a month later you were playing Kirkwood in St. Louis. When did they move St. Louis to California? You're pathetic. And as for his temper, you're such a great player that it shouldn't bother you. You have a winning record against him in tournaments so it hasn't bothered you then at all. At least Larry doesn't come on here and talk so ****ing stupid about you. At least he doesn't come up with dumb ****ing reasons to not play. He says he'll play and he'll play. Obviously you don't think you could win or you would jump at the chance to play.
And by the way, Larry isn't my hero. He's my friend and I stick up for my friends.
You've repeatedly whined about not being able to bet a nickel, since you have a family to support. You have no business commenting on any high dollar betting in pool. When you decide to throw 10k bets around, then, and only then, can you come on here and ***** about how John or others do not bet. Until that happens, you have 0 credibility.
I can do whatever the **** I want. There is no rule as to who can say what. Larry is my friend and I called him to see if he still wanted to play John. He does and he told me to let him know.
Oh, and I've never whined about not being able to bet. I bet what I can afford. Do I have $10k to bet if I wanted? Yes. Will I bet it? No. I'm proud to have a family and to support them. There is nothing more rewarding and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Maybe John has other priorities too. Other priorities, say, than argueing with you about playing Larry Nevel.
I happen to like John, but I'm not out here trying to make games for him. If Larry wants to play, he can log in and ask him himself. I laugh when I see you comment about an unwillingness to bet, and yet you won't bet a nickel. Best leave the betting to the people that can and will.

look i know larrys your friend i respect that.
i just think its disrespectful to hohmann, ortmann, engert, souquet, mosconi, etc etc when you and larry say 14.1 is dumb or just practice game.
i know your just saying that to get under my skin. truth is its as hard of game to play great as any game and larry knows that.
i know the game requires great shotmaking and cueball control and knowledge so when a great player like larry makes up excuses and says its just a practice game and wont gamble with me that makes me feel good.ill take it as a compliment and just let things go.
for the record my backer said he would stake me playing him 14.1,1hole,9 or 10ball. also snooker if he would like.,
armwrestling too just kidding .
No John, he's not saying that stuff as an excuse to not play you. He won't play anyone 14.1, even players under his speed.
Alright, your backer said one-pocket or 9 or 10-ball. Those are options Larry has given you. So which do you want to play? Do you want to play both?
Also, I feel that Bartram might like to play you some even on a bartable. Or maybe some even banks. You know, just a feeling I have.Look at all this action you can get! By the time you leave Vegas you won't even need a backer anymore! You won't need to look for some place to relocate to to be a house pro, you can open your own room and be the pro there! How could you ever pass all this up? Hope on your motorcycle and head out there and wait for all the money to roll in!
