All around best american player??

No John, he's not saying that stuff as an excuse to not play you. He won't play anyone 14.1, even players under his speed.

Alright, your backer said one-pocket or 9 or 10-ball. Those are options Larry has given you. So which do you want to play? Do you want to play both?

Also, I feel that Bartram might like to play you some even on a bartable. Or maybe some even banks. You know, just a feeling I have. Look at all this action you can get! By the time you leave Vegas you won't even need a backer anymore! You won't need to look for some place to relocate to to be a house pro, you can open your own room and be the pro there! How could you ever pass all this up? Hope on your motorcycle and head out there and wait for all the money to roll in!

sure ill play chris banks,1hole,9ball,8ball,10ball,rotation,14.1,3cushion,snooker,banks.then we can play all those games on bartable too.

ill ride in on my motorcycle and bet 50,000 of my own money.
you can show up in your minivan and bet 30 dollars .see you there

It's always something with you. Seriously, if you don't want to play either of them, just say so. It's not that hard. Here, I'll give you something you can just copy and paste so you don't have to try to think of anything yourself: I don't think I'm a lock playing Chris Bartram or Larry Nevel in any real game so I'll pass and keep trying to convince people that 14.1 really is a game.

Oh, and I don't own a minivan. If I did, I wouldn't be dumb enough to drive it to Vegas. I'll just take my plane, grab a limo to the hotel (it's actually cheaper than a cab if you have a few people, for those of you that didn't know that), and bet what I feel comfortable with leaving myself plenty to support my family. Maybe that's $30 or maybe it's $300 or maybe it's $3000. It doesn't matter though because I'm happy with the level I'm at and don't have to try to high roll anyone. If you want to bet your whole $50k, that's awesome. Just remember though, if you lose it and have nothing left, pawn shops in Vegas take motorcycles. If I were you, I'd just stick with letting your backer do his thing. Sure, it's great to bet your own, but I always think it's a smarter play to let someone else worry about the money so it's one less thing on your mind while playing.

Well then I hope you bring an ATM card with you so you don't have to pawn your motorcycle if you do bet the $50k and lose. Of course I don't know anyone that will bet that much with you. You must be the richest guy on AZ!

By the way, you never told me what tournaments count in your offer to bet on who has more wins between you and Larry.

Are you going to be in Vegas? If so, we can figure it out there as I like to bet with cash, not via PayPal or anything.

I have no intention of being in Vegas. However, I have a few friends that will be there and bet on my behalf. I would like to put 1k to 2k in action.

I'm only taking $3k to Vegas so I wouldn't be able to accommodate you, sorry. Not that it matters, John obviously has no intentions of playing.

I respect that, I'm just surprised that if you thought that Nevel was such a lock that you'd make that bet. At any rate, you are probably right, I doubt the match will go down.

I don't think there is such a thing as a lock at the top levels. Do I think Larry can win? Yes. Does he have to win? No. But if the match does happen, I will bet on it.

Geez suprnva, you are ALL on Larrys nuts! Can you say man crush?!

I love people like you. You don't say a single thing in a thread and then when it's this far in you just jump in and talk shit to someone. Good job!

And by the way, call it a man crush all you want. I've heard it so many times that it doesn't even bother me. I'm friends with Larry and I'll stick up for him until I'm blue in the face.

The cannon

I got to say I think right now Shannon Daulton is probably the best all around US player. Very solid at every game and excels at one pocket, banks, and 9 ball.

Ronnie claims today that Efren is the best he ever saw, but Ronnie was never one to brag. I will say this, Ronnie knew things about One Pocket that will be lost when he's gone. He had moves to "funnel" balls toward his pocket that no one knows or shoots today. NO ONE! He could escape traps with two and three rail kicks that are never seen or shot at today.

His ability to shoot off angle combinations, find dead balls in the pack, and make crazy billiard shots may never be seen again. No one could read the pack better than Ronnie. Efren isn't even close there. One more big plus was that Ronnie NEVER missed a ball to win a big game or a big match. He was fearless under pressure, the bigger the bet the better he played. You would have really enjoyed seeing him play. You wouldn't be able to take your eyes off him. No one could.

Plus he was entertaining as hell, with a gift of gab unmatched this side of Keith McCready. And when he turned that conversation on, his game went up a ball and his opponents went down a ball. Add all these things up, and you'll see why he was the top dog in One Pocket for twenty years or more.

One last thing Chris, Ronnie was a grinder like you. He was always giving up the nuts, so he had to play a long time to get the money. God bless Efren, but he has some quit in him. I've seen it. Get him down a few games and he's looking for the door. Get Ronnie down and he wants to raise the bet. You would have liked him, a lot! Back then.

At the DCC a couple yrs ago, every time Efren played a match, RONNIE was watching and visa versa. Its a testiment of mutual respect and admiration.

As far as all-around US player, Nick Varner would be my choice if all games are involved. One guy that is hardly ever mentioned is Steve Cook, I know he played all the games real sporty.

Any of thses guys are serious canidates;

Archer
Harriman
Schmidt
Hatch

hi

blah blah blah you like to hear yourself dont you?
i never said i play any game as good as you.
you are a great player and i should ask for more than the last 2 but i have a lot of gamble.
if you want to play like that ill make a game.
as far as all the games and how great you are i dont care ill make a game at any game i play 14.1 i dont so here you go a fair list.
you are a better player no doubt.
10 ball last 2
one pocket 9 7
banks even
14.1 is this really a game ill pass.

if you dont play 14.1 then why did you come by my dinner table with marop and i and ask bill if he wanted to gamble with you at 14.1.
about 8 people heard you ask him . you only wanted to play 100 a game but still you wanted to play.

anyway chris maybe we can play again someday.

your a good guy and a great player but i just wish you would not make fun of something just because your not good at it. i think its disrespectful to all the champions who know 14.1 is the best game. sigel, varner, miz etc.

maybe im wrong but it seems like you hate pool because you cant make a living at it. all the money you have made youve probably blown playing poker.

you know in your heart 14.1 is a real hard game and possibly feel slighted because your not a top player with sponsors, titles, etc . so instead you just knock games and belittle players and there accomplishments.

its not very professional of you and i think you if your honest with yourself would agree.

p.s. for the record i dont think you could beat marop .

Schmidt who lit the fuse? You're funny as hell in my book and your name came up more than Shannon's or Harrimans for best all around player. I lived in NC a great while so Shannon is the sentimental favorite, just the way it is. Anyway keep doing your thing and like Jamie Baraks says..."If you want to play pool you need a thick skin and a bad memory". Dont let everything get to you so bad and everything is not a ride or die cause. Have some fun.
