Where to eat in Vegas during BCAPL?

I've eaten at the original Andre's on Sixth St and it was great. Was at Andre's Alizé at the top of the Palms last year and it was even better.

Was thinking about Joel Robuchon Restaurant at MGM.

But I also want to hit the Peppermill and a steakhouse.

Who's got some recommendations?

And I want to shoot a lot of pool!

Fix at Bellagio is awesome if you want to go to a restaurant at a casino. There is also a place that looks like a hole in the wall but has great food called Golden Steer. It is a very old steakhouse that is off the strip but I think is popular with the locals. Both are good steakhouses with VERY different ambiances.

B&B Ristorante in the Venitian is a great Italian place too.

Nine at the Palm's has the best steak in Las Vegas. Kind of a loud atmosphere but a tremendous steak.

SW at The Wynn is a great steakhouse for the atmosphere. Also Red is great there for Oriental.

For late night, I like Cafe America (I think that is the name) over at New York New York.

The buffets at any of the big hotels are worth going to as well. Just go with someone that has an 'in' or be prepared to wait in line.

Maggianos at the Fashion Show Mall really good Italian food and reasonably priced. Prime Steak House or Olives at the Bellagio and sit on the balcony and enjoy the fountains. The steak house above Maggianos at the Fashion Show Mall is suppose to be really good but I haven't tried it yet. Also Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens on Freemont St. Enjoy

Right after I posted, I had found there website Golden Steer and here's another good read, Rat Pack era restaurants

I'm also going to "Try" and stay away from buffets, but I did hear that Bellagio's is impressive.

I've been told by a friend who would know that the best steak on the strip is at - believe it or not- the steak house in Circus Circus. I may give it a try this year.

Gotta get a 1 lb hotdog at Slots of Fun across the street from the Riv...$.99 if I remember right...lol. The buffet at Belagio was awesome!
:p

If you miss Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens you will have missed one of Vegas' best Italian restaurants. Used to be owned by Liberace. Understand they still use his old recipes. Corner of East Tropicana and Spencer. Reasonably priced as well. Come as you are. After dinner, stop by the Rum Runner. Right across the street. Home of the annual Andy Mercer Tournament.

If you HAVE to spend a lot of money on a meal, virually any one of the major casino's has at least one excellent steak house. I still prefer either Morton's or Ruth's Chris. Know what to expect both price and quality wise. If its a buffet your after, try Paris. Unbelieveable!

Rayjay,

Had the worst gas pains of my life after one of those:barf:. Beer was cheap though! Haven't been to Slots in at least ten years.

It's been some years so pardom my memory but there was a place called "Black Diamond" I think, really close to the strip and it was the first time I had a steak smothered in garlic butter, freakin delicious. Do a search for a name like that before you go, it wasn't part of any casino.

I am not sure if it is the best because I haven't tried enough of them in Vegas; however, I did eat there last year and it was very good. Definitately not a dissapointment.

I can't remember the name but there is a steakhouse at the asian casino (sorry can't remember the name of the casino) that is supposed to be one of the best in vegas. I think the name of the steakhouse is Embers but not positive.

Texas Brazil brazilian steakhouse at the opposite end of the strip of the Riv, just past the airport on the right. It's amazing.....and i'm an eater.

I had the giant bone in ribeye at Delmonico's last year in the Venetian along with their parmesan black truffle potato chips. The steak was extremely good and the service was top notch, the chips are godly, I have not been able to recreate them to date.

It is a goal of mine to try out more of the top steak restaurants in Vegas but this year I am SOL as I got a job that starts May 10th and cannot go this year. Otherwise I would have likely tried to hit SW in the Wynn, supposed to be pretty good steak and if you can get a table on the patio it overlooks the lake of dreams show.

One place to avoid is the italian restaurant in the Fashion Show Mall, right on the corner of the building's second floor. One of the worst meals I ever had, got the veal and it was soggy, my friend got steak and a lobster tail and the lobster tail was mush, it had clearly been freeze/thawed more then once. Place was the pits.

this is the name of the place, my opinion on it is a complete 180.

For a decent Vegas experience there is a Italian restaurant in a strip mall immediately behind the Flamingo. About every star on the planet in the last 40-50 years has been there and has their pictures on the wall. All you can drink wine and the food is quite good, nothing amazing but decent for the price and the atmosphere is worth the trip for a old school Vegas experience.

Had the Bellagio's and the Wynn's, not even close the Wynn blows it away, try to go when they have their 11 spiced rack of lamb though, the lamb they do other times is not even close to as good.

Paris was one of the best buffets I ever had in Vegas back early in it's existence BUT for the fact their shrimp had gone bad and it took me eating one to find that out the hard way. I got food poisoning and threw up most of the night. A huge shame because the place cooked small portions of dishes and the hot food was thus almost always super fresh and not sitting under the heat lamps hardly at all. The shrimp and food poisoning is a unforgivable thing in a buffet though, no way should that EVER happen so I never went back.

where to eat..

Ellis Island behind Bally's great ribs, memphis barbecue, Broadway Pizza. Just a few All Great food.

The little Italian behind the Flamingo is, "Batistas Hole in the Wall," Good must go Restaurant, Modest prices and good food.

For a good meal every time and you can walk there, go to the Peppermill right next door. Open all night too. I'd rather eat at the food court then go to the Riviera buffet. UGH!
