of CJ holding a Jensen cue.I think it was a Tuxedo cue.

I like it when I hear other people seeing and benefiting from the same things I see in a video.
I watch a lot of instructional videos and get something from almost all of them. It's great to see so many people chiming in about how great the video was.

I watched the video several nights ago, and plan on watching a few segments again. CJ presents some material I haven't seen before (such as his aiming system), and does a better job of presenting other material I have seen before. I took as much as I could retain from one viewing to the table and saw the value immediately.
CJ's screen presence and the production value is also a step above what I've seen in other pool videos. It's easier to focus on the substance when the presenter seems comfortable and the camerwork is well-done.
Finally, CJ was efficient in getting the DVD shipped, and it came with an authographed photo so I could show my wife that some pool players have more in their wardrobe than Hustlin t-shirts.
I highly recommend it to anyone seriously interested in the game.

It sure was good to see someone actually teaching the fingertip bridge. Every instructor but 1 since I was taught it has told me to break that awful habit.
First time I saw it routinely used was Fats. I thought it was just part of his hustle. Talkin Shootin and not caring about a thing. Heck he doesn't even have a solid bridge, while running out a 1 pocket rack.

I was fortunate enough to hang out with HANK HANEY a great deal before he left me for TIGER (can you believe it?) Woods......There is a great deal of similarity between how Hank teaches golf and how I teach Pool....We talked at great length about this and I traded him Pool lessons for Golf lessons. He taught me a LOT about teaching in general and I've been his friend for almost 20 years......I just want to give credit where credit is due.....And teaching tennis years ago helped, but the biggest thing that improved my teaching ability was becoming a 2nd Degree Blackbelt Instructor. Knowledge how that body works and how to get it into the same position EVERY TIME is something that I picked up from doing Martial Arts....If the foundation is consistent, then, and only then, can you build the structure (your body) consistently.....This IS the secret, but you must know EXACTLY HOW THIS IS DONE or many of your practice hours will be wasted. REMEMBER---The Difference Between an Amateur and a Professional is an Amateur will Practice until they can do it right...

Yes, if you have a favorite angle that is a little fuller than half ball then this does 2 very important things. It makes it so that you're shooting the same angle every time which is easy to duplicate, and it gives you the chance to hit the ball harder, softer, or with more spin. This is all because you have reduced the amount of angles you are dealing with. This little secret allowed me to play on any size table with very tight pockets. My opponent couldn't overcome the fact that I was basically shooting the same shot most of the time..

Thanks, Carl, I think the producer Alin Bijan needs a special thanks from me for taking the time and the effort to help me produce that quality of video...Alin is owner of MEDIA WORLD located in Dallas and has worked a great deal with Chuck Norris and his son Michael. His work has been on HBO and THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL, as well as a couple of MOVIES.....I knew to be able to express the "Secrets" of pool would be difficult enough without worrying about the best camera angles, set production, etc. So Alin made it so much easier to write the script and go over 51 different aspects of the game. Yes, Mike Johnson did build me a cue that I have played with quite a bit. I also used a Bloodworth for a number of years. Mike Sigel also built me a cue, but it's almost TOO PRETTY to play with. It hits really good too, but I don't like thinking about it being stolen because it is VERY EXPENSIVE..:sorry:...But I have always favored the joints that have the bigger, wood screw connection. I just feel the ball better and can get "quicker" spin with one (or so it seems)....any other questions about equipment, or tip size for different conditions contact me through CJ @ CJ Wiley

Obviously, if you have the EYESIGHT and can stroke without a discernable "waggle", the angle is more important. I no longer have the eyesight NOR a smooth, straight stroke due to my age and physical impairments, so distance is a bigger factor for me at this point in my life. But I do agree with you in the above quote, it's just that NOTHING holds true for EVERYBODY.
BTW, I ordered the DVD and absolutely LOVE it. Best $38 I ever spent on pool-related items. But....my DVD has a bad place in it (scene 20) that causes the video to freeze and skip. Can I return this for another disc? If so, tell me how you want me to go about doing this. Thanks C.J.

This is another little story about racking and breaking at 9 ball.
I recently played Scotty Townsend who is my friend and competitor. Before I start off, he gives me the wild five ball and I have all I can stand to stay in the game. (That's how much of a competitor he is :wink
We've played for years and I've never seen him cheat or shark but the 9 ball goes on his first rack and break and I'm not a happy camper. I check the rack EVERY time thereafter. He racked the balls tight every time. I saw nothing wrong with his racks. After he thrashed me as usual and after I had cooled off, I moseyed over to where he was sitting and shared a beer with him and he mentioned to me about the break. In 9 ball if you know the BREAKING SECRET, you can make the 9 ball on the break without loosening either of the two balls behind the 9 or anything else.
Maybe I will get Scotty to divulge the secret when I get him in the commentary booth.
The next few matches the 9 ball fell a couple of times for me (once I knew the secret).
