2010 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

Tom:
Good to see you back here on the 14.1 Forum. I miss reading your comments. How have you been & what have you been practicing?

Life has been a full time job the past few months but with the grace of God I will manage to hang of for a while.

Still playing in the APA
8 ball, 9 ball and still chasing perfection by practicing 14.1 when I have the time and energy.....and still trying to break that damned 27 high of mine.

My son who is 28, asked me the other day....How you shooting Dad?.....
I replied...."GOOD! but not good enough. I can run 6 or 8 or ever 10 or 15 but in 14.1 that is simply not good enough!"

I love this game though!
Thanks for asking.

118 on june 17th please....also, Thorsten Hohmann ran 326 this year, in april or may i think it was...

41 Ball Run

Please put me down for a 41 ball run on July 1. It's 6 balls short of my all-time record, but it's the best I've shot this year.

Thanks

My goal is a 160 within 4 months from now, on camera. I am putting aside two days a week, 4 hours a day for attempts. Good luck everyone! This is gonna be awesome!

122 in June

Folks:

Put me down for a 122 for June. The run ended when the cue ball got stuck in the pile after the break shot. :(

I hope to have video rigged-up soon. I hate reporting runs without supporting video evidence.

Thanks, guys! That run was done on Iron Willie's Diamond Pro-Am with 4.5-inch pockets, so it's one to be proud of, for sure. But honestly, I was on the fence -- and on the fence a good while, too -- about whether to report it. I hate, and I mean *HATE*, reporting runs without video evidence to support it. But I've been hittin' 'em good lately -- consistent 50/60/70 ball runs that I don't and won't report. So I thought this 122 was good enough to report, even without the video evidence. I'm trying to convince Wayne and Jason at Iron Willies to mount a camera above that Diamond Pro-Am.

And yes, Jesse -- I have this sneaky feeling that you're going to report a big run soon -- with video! I can't wait!

Thanks again, guys!

80 Yesterday

Put me down for an 80. It was done on table 1 at Jack n Jill Billiards in Wilkes-Barre, PA with 2 witnesses (the owner and the local APA League Operator). Missed a straight in shot in the side from the rail trying to manufacture a break shot with 5 balls left on the table. It sure gets hot in the room after you get yourself into previously unchartered territory! When I reach 80 next time I think I'll take a bathroom break, maybe have an ice cream and try to calm down.

Thanks,
Ron F

Awesome...WTG....I Am a firm believer in those little breaks. either to have some water or to wipe my cue down...most of all to forget all the balls i have already run and to concentrate on the shot that is in hand...

Keep It Up !

@sFleinen

Great run mate :-) looking forward to watch it on video- atm anyway just able to *watch* around -_- hanging around and not be able to leave the house makin me crazy-so guy, pls upload all your videos!!! lol ^^

And a 122 is a reason to be proud on any table in my opinion-not just on 4,5 pockets!

my new PB :D

Hi! I just ran 125 yesterday which is my new PB! My run ended when I misplayed my position on the key ball thx to terrible "kick" on the cue ball and then missing tough cut. Interesting fact about this run is that when I was at 30 something suddenly I started to feel sharp pain in my bridge hand wrist, I just couldnt lean my little finger against the table so I had to place my bridge hand very carefully to prevent this pain. I still feel that pain a little but its much better now, hopefully its nothing serious. :)

75? I can't wait to hear your numbers after I send you this material. Congrats!

Marek, 125 is awesome! I hope your wrist is ok!

Thx David! My wrist seems to be ok now, my cure for joint, muscle and tendon pains is capsaicin plaster. Even though it burns like hell when using this plaster it surely deals with any and all cases of tendon/muscle/joint inflammation which was probably the cause of my wrist pain. :)

These kind of threads and runs are just inspiring!

I wish to heck that I had a mentor or coach near me that I could watch or play 2-3 times month.

These runs are just impressive as anything. Keep up the phenomenal play!

I need the motivation to work hard on improving.
