Make ONE APA Sticky and be done with it...

All these apa threads are getting ridiculous.

Make one APA thread and have people post there.

That's so much less fun though! I should have put my thread in NPR, I wanted to going in and lost track while posting, APA is not pool related.

Wah, someone is sandbagging,
Wah, my LO cheated us.
Wah, my SL raised
Wah, where did all of our money go
Wah, a 4 ran out after I didn't make a ball on the break
Wah, someone marked the pocket with a CC

I bet you'll get the sticky right after all the CTE threads get their sub-forum.... :p

"But-but-but guys, the APA threads are 'seasonal' or only come in waves. Just ride out the storm, and everything will be restored to normal."

 :D

most of the time I agree.... I won't whine... I just want to know the answer about the money liability.. since there are a lot of apa players and a few LOs here, I wanted to know the answer from a source other than my LO

I don't usually whine about it, but sometimes ya gotta vent. And with the thousands of people in the APA membership, it stands to reason that some of the threads on here are gonna be about the APA, pro and con.

Heck, I shoot in 3 leagues and two of them are APA leagues. If I didn't write anything about the APA then my posting/threads would be few and far between.

You don't hafta open the threads, ya know?

If they made a sticky for APA threads, I'd probably be involved in it at some time or another.

To the people who are tired of the APA threads, who says that people aren't tired of all the other senseless drivel you can read on this site? There's stuff I'm tired of seeing too, I just don't open those threads and I don't whine about them. Everyone has a right to post and with whatever subject they choose as long as it is within the rules of the site. And obviously the APA threads are interesting to someone as they usually get quite a few pages worth of replies and many more views.

LOL, you can bet that if the APA were hit by a train there would be a thread saying that the train didn't call the right track.

No, that's not true. Slop counts, until it's the 8-ball. Last I looked, trains (or the APA logo) aren't black. :p

Um, you have to continue with the analogy. Train is last thing you would see, 8 ball is last thing you would see, mark the pocket for 8 ball, call the track with the train....

I agree. Now we got threads whining about APA threads.

Maybe I should start a thread whining about the threads whining about all the Whining APA threads:thumbup::deadhorse:

I don't get it. Somebody wants APA discussions quarantined. Someone else wants CTE discussions sent to their own room. Well, make it a bigger room and include all aiming systems. Should we have a sub forum for all the engineers who want to post formulas and charts?

We have a place to post tournaments. Someplace else to talk about cue making. An instructors forum where people can ask questions of the instructors. Another place if you need help from a table mechanic. Then we have a room for room owners.

How many sub forums should we have????

What will be left for the main forum??????????????????????????????

Quick true story:
I'm shooting on a challenge table with a couple of other BCA players at the local pool hall bar. Up comes the 'Regional APA Director of something or other' and racks the balls. Walks up and shakes my hand and says: "APA rules" with a smile.
Me: Sorry, we're playing BCA rules.
RAPADOSOO: No, we're playing APA rules. I'm the Regional APA Director so we're playing APA rules.
Me: Okay.....but we're still playing BCA rules. (I then break the balls and make a solid, but stripes look better so I shoot a stripe in).
RAPADOSOO: That's cheating! You can't do that. You have to shoot solids since you only made a solid on the break!
Me: We're playing BCA rules. It's my table. If you beat me you can play any rules you want. (Then I proceed to run out on him).
Me: (after I drop the eight ball) Nice game.
RAPADOSOO: You didn't let me shoot!
Me: Oh, sorry, is that an APA rule?

Steve, everyone wants to be different and choose their content and not be troubled by things they aren't interested in. Perhaps it's a sign of how the "sense of community" is changing.

Just a thought.

You may be right. I just enjoy having a lot of different discussions, all pool related, all in one place. If the topic of the thread doesn't interest me, I don't open it. If something catches my eye, I will see what's there.
I think we can sub-divide the forum too much. I don't want to have to open a dozen different forums to see if there is anything I want to read.

Just my opinion.

So what's next.....all APA threads should ride at the back of the bus?

No no no, don't be silly! They will have their own bus.

A short bus.

With fewer seats.

And a different color.

And engine problems.

Without any seatbelts.

You know, the way it was intended to be.

An APA sticky is a great idea because it will keep it on page one and will eleminate a lot of the same thing. Also, an APA forum would not be a bad idea because there are enough people who play in it to make it worth while. It would cut down on the reoccuring threads and post's and make it easier for those who are looking to ask question's, complain about skill levels or league operator's.....etc.
