I may have made a mistake trusting Ren.

I bought this cue and paid for it 9 days ago.

I know Ren has zero iTrader ratings but I took the recommendation of baji314 and his explanation that he had not sold anything on here even though he was a long time member/lurker.

So far Ren has not contacted me at all regarding receipt of the money or anything about shipping it. And obviously the cue has not arrived.

There has been a complete silence from Ren. I sent him private messages. Also he gave me a phone number and I have been trying to call it but it never answers.

I was too late a minute ago. I saw that he was online and sent him a pm. I wanted to give him one more chance to respond but before I finished the pm he went offline again.

So I am posting this thread. Perhaps it will get his attention.

Ren do the right thing. You cannot just stop communicating when you sell something on AZ unless you are trying to conduct a rip off.

sorry to hear that, 9 days i think is too much. since he did not answer your pm's try to contact the one give a recommendation. And common Ren, please be a gentleman, if there was problem about the cue, let the new owner knew it..Hope it will fix, as soon as possible..

Les said that he has seen Ren at some tournaments.

wow, i feel for you ron. i hope this turns out well for you,im guessing you paid through paypal. still sucks to wait awhile to get your cash back.

i trust that ren will make good on his sale, like i said, he is a friend of mine and i dont think he would do something like this just to gain something from it. let me see what i can do to contact him to get answers why the cue hasnt shipped yet

SOULHASSORROW I paid through Western Union, as per sellers request. It cost me an extra $12 but I did it in good faith. There is no chance of recovering any money if he flakes.

Unfortunately I am at the mercy of his actions and the help of my friends here on AZ.

This is very bad for you. You are indeed at the seller's mercy.

Never, ever pay using W/U unless you personally know the other party and are OK if you get stiffed.

What I should have done is use an intermediary in the Philippines that I trust, like Les Lacson (the_general). I understand why they have difficulty using paypal there but I should have taken other precautions to protect myself.... :banghead:
 
^^yes definitely^^^ but we all make mistakes ron (i've gotten scammed before) and we all try to have some kind of hope in humanity. Im hoping ren will step up and explain the delay in shipping.
 
Be sure to put something in his Itrader so others don't get jerked around by this guy! I think his green dots are now RED yep alot of RED dots. Ron
 
Also tried to buy this cue!

Hi. My name is Chris and I also have been in contact with Ren about this cue. His last message to me said that he had two cues exactly alike except the other cue had a sappelle wood handle. I sent the money W. U. yesterday for the maple handled cue. It's been a little over 24hrs and hadn't heard back.


Luckily I saw this thread and contacted W. U. and was able to stop the transaction before the money was picked up. I was told the office in the Manila would open in 1/2 hour. Thank you to Ron Shirley for posting the warning but I don't think your going to get your cue. Good luck and I hope you get your money back. Thanks again! Chris Marriott

if its any consolation, I also asked for help from the_general to get in touch with ren to get updates.

the only thing I think that could cause the cue delivery to be delayed is the white material may have caught the customs people attention. That might be one reason, but still we will try to get in touch with ren

This is whats great about AZ billiards, everyone always tries to help each other out. I hope it is just some mis communication going on here and not some intentional action on the sellers part. Hopefully you will hear something soon so you know what is exactly going on, good luck to you sir I hope it all works out for you <<<ED
 
I bumped into Ren last night in one of the local pool halls. I told him about this and he told me he shipped the cue already. I asked him to at least provide Ron the tracking number and at least communicate. I told him he must.
