I just got this 8 pointer from Scott Gracio.
4 bridged points with 5 veneers,mitered boxes with 5 veneers, 2 shafts.
7 months to build.
I dont want to post how much it cost but it was very reasonable.
Give him a call and ask for a quote

Already mentioned, but I'll say again since they all make a great playing cue....... Al Romero, Sheldon Lebow, and Dick Neighbors (in no particular order)

Eric your not to bad yourself. Ive watched your career take off.even when you were posting on easy-pool.

I also think Bryan Mordt BCM cues are special. Not sure why he doesn't get the recommendation's that he deserves.

What he said...............

i'd also like to throw this out there for the hell of it. i know steve lomax gets a lot of respect for his jump cues from everyone but his playing cues are not talked about as much and they are also lights out. they aren't cheap but they are very good quality and they play great.

I think S&S cues by Paul Sumrall are fantastic. I ordered one and it came in this morning. The fit and finish is great and the hit is outstanding. I haven't played a lot since around 1982. I have 12 cues that I got off of the AZ in the past 7 months and Pauls is by far the best one.
Prices and turn around time is as good as it gets.
Full splice cue I really love it.
I have one coming from Lee Peppers and will give a review of it when I get it. Paul and Lee both are great guys to work with.
Thanks a lot Paul for the fantastic cue.
Percy/Knifemaker

+1 on Paul.
I still haven't met anyone who wasn't impressed by his cue.
He is awesome guy and quick to answer also.

Teddy!!

If no one's mentioned him till now then it deserves mention. Ted Harris down in Hollywood Fl, makes a JAM UP cue. Several AZ'ers have his cues and the quality he puts into the craftsmanship is really top notch.Super sharp points, accurate inlay design, excellent finish, balance you name it and teddy nails it. He really does some beautiful work and I have a cue on the way from him. His primary mission is absolute quality in all his work. He won't release your cue until he feels its perfect. Needless to say there are some quality cues out there with his logo.

TO reach teddy just email him at poolcues@tedharris.com.

BHQ any of you heard of Him

My vote for the most underrated cue maker is (BHQ) Brent Hartman from Cincinnati, OH. I came across Brent in searching for a butterfly cue. Brent is a pretty new guy around the scene but there is nothing rookie about the way he makes cues. His collection of cues made is growing. First of all his customer service is A+ and he is such a funny dude. Brent's attention to detail is high and the playability, fit and finish of his cues are quality. BHQ prices, I believe, reflect the current market and once the market turns around his butterfly style cue orders will multiply.

Brent has made 2 cues for me....1 is currently done a pj with a elk handle, the other a butterfly cue that will be ready in September. Check out his cues at www.bhqcustomcues.com

Local guys-So Cal

previously mentioned-Ariel Carmelli -certainly not unknown

Kent Davis-terriffic laminate craftsmanship/solid hit

Myron-some very nice BEM/healthy butts(who couldn't like?)/nice shaft wood.

These I've hit and liked. I play a Myron. I play bad with good equipment.

Ned Morris also makes a good hitting cue. Melissa plays a beauty.

Just wanted to add-

Recently-inquiring about acquiring some elk butt handle material-Brent was very generous and helpful with his time and suggestions.

Thanks again-he is another 'good guy' on AZB-there are many.

I would give a nod these guys in on particular order:
Joe Callaluca
Lee Peppers
Brent Hartman

I have or will order a cue from each of these cuemakers in the near future.

Thanks :) I wouldn't consider myself underrated, though. I have gotten due exposure. I think there are lots of "under the radar" builders who do great work & deserve the recognition. But for some reason, the market as a whole chooses who is who & it's not always determined by quality.

There are so many great names on this list but I know of one more that I think should be on here, Barry Cameron. Barry has made me a great cue that I use everyday and I hope to be doing business with him again someday.

Bob Smith of Shaman Cues in NC

http://www.shamancues.com

I have played with one of his cues for the last three years and I can honestly say it is one of (if not) THE best hitting cues I have ever owned...

And he only makes like 2 cues per year... Might not even be taking orders right now...

Total perfectionist...

I would Purchase from all these Cuemakers and then some!!!!

I will second all these and vote for Sheldon Lebow, Pete Tonkin(winner 2010) ,Bill Hagan, Kerry Zylr , Kenny Mur-- l ,Russ Espiritu,BHQ Brent Hartman, Brian Mordt BCM, Jeff Olney, Jim Buss,Leon Sly, Billy Webb, Michael Webb,Kevin Varney,RHN Dick Neighbors,Terry McFadden( because of Ernie Martinez) Steve Kornele(because of Verl Horn. Paul Sumrall. thanks to the other posters who have compiled a great list!! Mark
