Someone telling me that they play pool for a league is for me, the equivalent of saying that they play pool with a group of crappy players and they are probably crappy too.
It may be different where you live but most probably it isn't.
your right. 100%. all the league players are crap. can i have the 6 out and the breaks playing some 9 or ten ball? or how about 11-3 playing one hole? or 150-25 playing straight pool? you can't make a blanket statement like that. here in atlanta we have strong A players that play apa, bca and tap. your area may suck but you just can't make a blanket statment that all league players suck. i'm only a good C player that can hit B- speed on my great days but i still get to sneak up on people all the time at tournaments because i show up wearing apa t shirts and they instantly think "he sucks" and then when they dry break and i run out they start to realize something isn't quite right with the assumption that because i shoot apa i suck (this happened last night). i don't generally like the business model of the apa, but i don't play to get to vegas. i like the bca policies a little better but still don't play in vegas. i play in the leagues because i get to play alot for a little money (here in the atl it's way less expensive to shoot league than pay table time - and we play on 9fters in alot of places or at least 8ft). you can hate the organizations, for sure, especially the apa model. a lot of us agree it's not good. but please don't lump all the league players together. a lot of us are players. i've made this plea before and i'll keep making it. just think about it is all i'm asking. you are entirely entitled to your opinion but just think about it.
