Pro Players & Hard Tips

I think I get it. The Pro Player wants a hard tip to prevent unwanted spin on the cue ball. This to me seems fine. Is there a trade off? Like a downside to this?

You may be correct but that doesn't sound right to me. I would think that at a pro level he/she knows how to hit the ball without inducing spin no matter what tip was being used.

You have more control with a harder tip.

I think the pros want a hard tip 'cause they last longer as they never have any money for tip replacement :wink: :thumbup:!!!

Now thats funny.......cheap is good..........but they get their tips for nothing.

I know alot of guys,myself included,have gone to Kamui super softs latley.You get the accuracy and longgevity of a med/hard tip with unbelivable spin controll.Its almost like it acctualy holds the cue ball for a second.It took a little getting used to but the draw controll is amazing.I recomend trying them to everyone.

I put one on 2 months ago trimmed about 1/3 of it off play 4 to 6 hrs a day and havent had any mushrooming yet.there expensive but well worth it imho.I havent even scuffed it yet and miscues are a thing of the past

I think I can put more English on with a hard tip.

If I were a pro I wouldn't have to worry about unwanted English,, my stroke would be true.

All tips end up hard after a few months. If you use hard tips they feel comfortable sooner.

Try the Kamui, so far (2 mnths) it hasent changed a bit. I was never into all the tip hype.I put a Moori on last year,played for 2 days with it and replaced it with a plain old Lepro but im very impressed with kamui SS imho its a whole new level

It is my understanding that Effren and a lot of the Philipinos play soft tipped bluetips as does Gabe Owen,Jeremy Jones etc

Did you leave it tall or trim it short?. Most pros like their tips installed thinner because they settle in and play more consistently quicker.

I like my tips hard as a rock. I press the hardest Triangles I can find and install them thin. Almost no break in time at all.

I took about a 1/3 off im gonna do my other shats and take 1/2 off 1/3 is a little tall but it plays great.Robb Saez cuts his down to almost nothing I played with his shaft and 1/4 or less is to short in my opinion.

I have been playing Talisman soft for the last year or so, and I am very happy with them. I get them free from my bud at the pool room.....everyone else there uses the med and hard.....I'm not a big fan of hard tips at all. I have tried the hard layered tips but they feel too clicky, or icey.....I can tell its easier to spin the ball, but I like to feel the cueball on the tip a little longer so to speak.

Tailsman makes a great tip.The only reason they dont get the credit is they dont pay for the hype. Much better tip than a moori
