Any Collectors or Cue makers?

None of the above. I'm thinking someone else. Show us some decent pictuires of the whole cue please. I like the veneer colors. Is the joint 5/16 X 14? Need to see where the wrap and points meet - then I'll guess.

I believe it to be a Jensen also.
Could be an early Mottey. He did colors like that early on.

History about where the cue came from
This cue came from a 70 cue collection . My friends tried identifying the cues before selling. In the collection there were 2 Mottey cues,signed. There were Kers/and SW that needed Identification from Laurie, because they were unsigned. I learned from another poster how to Identify Palmers there was 1. There was another Ivory jointed(hoppe Front) never identified but sold. I bought Danny Janes 81 custom . It has 1 rounded pt and then it is a 4pt splice with leather,balanced very nice ivory ferrules,But Has the ebony and Maple squares ,extra length, like the very early Joss cues did. And I bought some of the extra shafts that were new and unused. Truly thanks for all help so far. From all the cues the main players were the Joss,and this cue

It's also very close to the Mottey joint screw and insert, so that would be my guess too. It's certainly worth pursuing.

That was my first thought too. I've also seen some old Richard Black cues that looked similar and it could be a Jensen. They were all trying for that Szamboti look back then.
The bevel on the tip of the pin and the dark glue lines around the ivory diamonds in the butt sleeve for a start.
It actually could be an earlier Gus but the odds are vey long.
I am not that knowledgeable about all these cue maker's. I know a little here and there, but I'm not an expert. I only know from the information I've collected.
You can't actually tell looking at the rings because they are en exact copy of the Szamboti ring style. I was looking at the joint screws and inserts. Most of Gus' and Barry's cues have beveled nose screws, but there were some Gus cues that had the rounded nose joint screw.
I was looking at he joint screw and style of inserts and the typical Jensen's were different, same with Scruggs. I also looked at Ingram, Coker, etc.
Mottey and early Gus are the closest. I think Mark (Hollywood) is making contact with Barry to have it checked.

Just curious here, but to me it looks like the veneer split line in the points
goes to the side, and not right up the middle. Did Gus, Paul or some of the
other Cuemakers mentioned do their veneers this way earlier on? I know
that I've never seen a Mottey without the veneers split right up the middle
before, but I'm not sure about the rest. Just an observation.

usually the seam running off is found on mostly stacked veneers.....clean straight seams are usually done by mitering them.....tho some have success both ways, that is the general conception
Thanks Ghost, but does anyone know if Gus, Paul, or any of the cuemakers
that were mentioned use stacked veneers, or did they mitre their veneers?
The veneers on this particular cue looked stacked to me.
