At first I didn't notice, but now I see it: 61705819 Points.
If you go to your CP and at the top right of your reps you'll see a numerical points value.
I think -- and I may be wrong -- that it has something to do with your PM box. If you delete a couple messages, the number should go back to what it was previously.
I don't think this has anything to do with rep points, but, again, I might be mistaken.
What , you don't think Alton can make it into the billionnaires club ?
Shoot , he coulda been repped that many by people just for that last set of JPs he made for Fatboy!
What do we use them for ? Nothing ! The game is broken , and Smorg will always be King of Rep!

LOL. Yep, ridinda9, I'm pretty familiar with the rep system. I was number one for quite sometime, along with Smorgie, who then became King of Rep, which I did not mind at all, as it brought him such joy.
There used to be a fluke, so to speak, with the PM messages going up in number, which I thought the OP might be thinking, but now that I read this thread, I see he is referring, in fact, to the rep points.
Back then, the rep system meant something, but today it's more or less another PM-type system. Some people actually got angry at one time about the rep, and others created threads begging for members to rep them.
I'm starting a new forum with this software, and I think I am not going to include the rep feature. Though it is fun to leave little Tweet-like comments to others, it loses its effectiveness after everybody passes the 1-trillion mark. :wink:

Anyway, I think its kinda useless. There are people here who have broken the billion-point barrier (I'm not that far off myself) who add nothing of value to the content (I include myself in that group). lol.
I think leaving the rep system out is cool. Maybe a thumb up/thumb down feature might be a decent idea.

I do, however appreciate the rep points, as they represent the approval by other posters for various comments. Since I try to add something of significance when I post, this is just a sign that it's appreciated.
Kinda like someone saying "Good job". There is no monitary value, but it still makes you feel good.

Can you start a rep and trade system? It will be completely unregulated and lots of money can be made from selling rep. It will boost the traffic on the site exponentially. Not only that but it will create jobs because someone has to manage all the rep.
