SVB is a machine... now what?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Yang yet. Yang crushed Orcullo in their challenge match, and Orcullo is considered perhaps the best cash player on the planet.

I'd love to see SVB vs Yang.

There are a few of players from Taiwan that I am thinking of, Yang being one of them, that if SVB played, I'm going deep against Shane.

As much as I respect SVB's game, I gotta bet with my head and not my heart.

There are several players who can still give Shane trouble at that very same game - Ten Ball, Race To 100. Filipinos - Francisco, Lee Vann, Dennis and Alex. And they will play him! Americans - Only Johnny and Dennis Hatch. I would like to see Shane play either one of these guys.

I agree they can give him trouble for sure. I'm just saying this format suits Shane's game perfectly. I personally don't think Dennis can beat Shane as he will be unable to fade Shane's break and safety game. I would be curious for an early line on a Dennis vs. Shane match. I would think 12 - 14 games.

If I can get Dennis+14, my window is not only wide open, its shattered to pieces  We can make a bet right now in case the match is happening..

I'm guessing on a line. I'm just curious. Remember the closest anyone has come to Shane in 10 ball, besides Alex, is 79. Question: Does Dennis break like that? That's all you need to ask yourself.

I'm not sure if you where at this match but if you were you would have a good feel for how bad Shane can make a great player look and feel. It's kinda scary.

it was more mikas break than svb break.
with new cloth and magic rack.
he broke dry half the time.

I watched all three days and I have to say neither
played any where close to top speed. Mika didn't play like
Mika. And Shane played bad. Not disrespecting either, but
I have seen a lot better from both of them. Still I enjoyed it
and I think they need to do it again.

I dont think you can say it was the cloth because Shane broke fine on it. Dont they recover every table before TAR matches? I know one TAR match they brought a brand new diamond table in with new cloth.

I'll take 14 games on Dennis right now if they play. We can bet any number you like!

I'm not so sure about Yang playing Shane Ten Ball because of Shane's monster break. Playing 9-Ball is he is still the better player in my book. Fewer errors and missed balls, more (and better) run outs. Wu is another great player, who rarely misses anything. I've seen these guys in action. Two words - SCARY strong! They are the best of a large contingent of great Taiwanese players, many of whom gamble. Shane has not fared as well in Asia as he has here. Until someone beats him a few times, Yang remains the premier money player on the planet. I think he did lose a set or two to a couple of filipino players earlier this year, but they were much shorter races.

Jay, what do you think the right line is? I would be rooting for Dennis anyway. I was just trying to get everyone's thoughts. It seems I am out of line.

I think Dennis can do better than Mika but can't get there, he will finish mid 80s. Dennis lovers on a Diamond can bet with me though even right now.

One thing people are forgetting is that besides Alex, no one else shane has played has heart like Dennis Hatch... I still think this game is not even, but if someone is giving a line of more than 10+ games, I think they have the worst of it.

I feel in 10 ball, Shane controls his destiny against any American and maybe anyone in the world right now. As long as he brings his B+ game even, his game (break) seems too solid to beat unless the other player is in absolute dead punch. 9 ball IMO is a different story as Shane can be beat on any given day by any of those players. Of course this is JMHO and you would know much better :)

Is Hatch really better than Mika or Corey Deuel? I don't think so. Maybe Archer could give him trouble. Perhaps Corteza, Bustamante, or Reyes. Why not Efren? Too old now?

Agreed. Maybe Hatch is that good when he's playing for the dough but I would put him a step below Mika for sure in tournament play. I would personally love to see Shane vs Busti race to 100

Just curious..

What attributes do the Filipinos and Taiwanese mentioned that would equalize Shane's break?

A lot of the arguments why a lot of people think Shane is the man to beat in 10B is because of his break. So I'm curious how Yang, Corteza and Orcullo would overcome that. I guess this question is in behalf of those who don't get to watch the Yangs and the Cortezas and Orcullos out there.

most of the stuff on youtube are django, alex, efren, europeans and americans and thats about the extent of what matches I have watched.
