This is a great picture of Earl from years ago. Would be great to see him win some more.

I'd love to see the Pearl snap this one off! Gives some hope to us older fellas..

The more people tell him how great he is, the better he will play. He seems to feed off of those who give him praise, and it ignites his pool engines.

I hope when the opportunity avails itself to Earl, that he is reciprocal to his brethren of pool players, young and old, near and far. Unfortunately, the higher they go, the harder they fall. And it hurts.

Should I say "USA, all the way" today for Earl? Well, I used to. Not anymore.

Go Pearl, go Dynamite, and may the BEST man win.

I'm not sure who's in charge of PR (public relations) or media for this tournament, but this is a golden opportunity for them to promote pool with these kinds of tournament matches.

It is disappointing that there's not much press about this event anywhere.:(

Jam I have seen some of the greatest pool ever this week these guys make it seem so easy and at the same time show us that they make the same ridicules mistakes that we do:o. Sometimes I feel like the world needs to recognize these events and other times I say to heck with everyone else and be happy we get to keep this all to our selves:wink:.

I am not surprised to see a lack of interest in the event even though the whole planet knows about the game only a select few are "into it" like us and we are the lucky ones.....GO EARL.

Ive never seen anyone in professional sports complain more.. i think earl is truly a disgrace.. good shot... yes sure.. but kills me to watch such talent wasted by immaturity. GO DARREN! win with class!

Either you love him or you dislike him, but he's always going to be Earl. :)

I say let him have his moment in glory today. There aren't too many pool players I know of that are heralded in a favorable light as they age, unlike golf, tennis, football, baseball, baskeball, and other sports celebrities.

In the words of Rodney Dangerfield, they get no respect, but today, just for today, I hope Earl enjoys the feeling of hitting 'em strong. There's nothing better for a pool player, no matter how old you are, to know you still got lightning in the jug.:)

I spent the last two days watching/referee'n matches there. Earl has a range of emotions and it can go from laughing to frowning in .02 seconds...bottom line is in either case he's running out!! I thought chirping with the crowd during the Mika match might have been his demise but it was the opposite, the crowd was equally cheering for both players.

Point being...Im rootin' for Earl too
