The Real Bartram vs. Geno The Machino

These threads remind me of school yard fights. Two guys in a minor shouting match...then a crowd forms around the two. Somebody says: "are you gonna let him get away with that?"...and the fight is on.

:grin-square:

This match won't happen. Geno will just keep saying things like he hopes it happens when the conditions are right and his shoulder is better and his waste of time and money DVD is done and his kid's kid's kid's have graduated college and blah blah blah. I think it could be a good match, and Chris would win, but Geno is far to difficult of a person for anything to come of this. And if it does happen, it's going to be a ***** fest by Geno about everything under the sun. Just like when he came to Oshkosh, WI a few months back and got beat by a player you'd only know if you lived in WI. And what was really great about that match is they started in one location and after Geno was losing and *****ing about it the other player agreed to go to a different location that suited Geno's needs more and continued to beat him. I wonder how come Geno never mentioned that day like he mentions all the times he plays and wins? Maybe a loss just isn't good for business. Hmm.....

Just for the record I had been on the road for a month and a half. I came back up to Wisconsin and stopped in Oshkosh to see if there would be any lessons there and to see if my good friend Jeremy was there.

Had to get out of the motel room in Milwaukee at 10:00 after only 5 hours sleep. Then drove a couple of hours to Oshkosh with my next stop Wausau.

When I saw Mr Fields there I thought it might be fun to play some cheap $100 sets. The poolhall that we were at that had one diamond 9 footer with triple shimmed pockets was right next to the door that kept opening and making me blind. At night this was fine but during the day this was rediculous.

So after playing one set I told Mr fields if he wanted to play some more I wasn't going to play with these conditions. He's a pretty nice guy and said sure. he knew the conditions sucked.

Then when the owner saw that we were leaving about all he knew was i was leaving because of the tight pro cut pockets and he said to me aren't you supposed to be a pro. I thought this was pretty rude. Lost my business.

Went over to my friend Jeremy's poolhall and played about 3 more sets I think for $100 each. Mr Fields just wanted someone to play with and I wanted to play also. I was really tired but sometimes us pool players play like that just because the game is there.

I played really bad. I was just plum wore out.

If you got any cash put it up and i'll come over there and play whoever you got and I'm going to tell you I don't think your going to like it.

I think this is the second time you've punked me out on here.

We can freeze up $2000. But I'm not going to play $100 or $200 dollar set like was suggested before.

Before you judge a man walk a mile in his moccasins. It's an old Indian saying.

When I play I will be totally rested and not be on the road for a month or so.

I'm in dead punch right now so lets do it soon.

How do they say, put your foot , or i mean your money where your mouth is.

Just give me a weeks notice and I'll be there. Or you can come to Minneapolis. That's where i live now.

Have a great day geno..........

And the excuses keep flowing. First, the pockets at the Magnet are not triple shimmed. They are pro cut. I know what you mean about the back door in that place though so I'll give you that one. And also the owner is an asshole, no question.

As for your statement about playing whoever I got, why don't you worry about the game that this thread is about first? Oh, wait, you're already trying to avoid it because you know you can't win. But if you do want to play Chris, maybe you two can meet in the middle here in Oshkosh and play your match at The Varsity Club. He's a buddy of mine so I guess that would kinda count towards "whoever I got". Just a thought.

Where did I bark at him? Where in my post did I ask him to play? Nowhere. I was just giving some facts is all. Maybe you should actually read someone's post before you respond to it.

If your looking for some action i know jessie bowman has got a challenge out to play any american besides shane... Maybe you wanna hook up and play jessie. Then again maybe not would be fun to watch though.

I'll match up but right now jesse would be financial suicide for most players on the planet on that bar box.

I don't think even Shane would be very excited about playing Jesse. Or shouldn't be at least. He might not get to shoot for awhile. hard to win sitting in the chair watching the other guy shoot and both these guys are capable of this.

There are a few players from up in that Oshkosh area that would be some good matches for me. I think John Fields is one of the best players in Wisconsin. He's a good guy also. I might not win but I can guarantee that he will know he was in a pool match if we played with both of us being prepared.

I like playing players like John cheap sets for 100 or 200 just to play. It's enough money to really get you excited and try to play real hard. The problem is that sometimes you play when your not ready because the opportunity to play someone doesn't happen very often.

It's really tough to stomach when someone gets on the forum and judges your heart and gamble on a little $100 practice thing.

But to certain players this is maybe big time money and that's OK.

I love to play and I love to teach and I love to help players. This guy obviously doesn't know me at all. Or maybe he does. About as good as he knows Chris. Which isn't very good at all.

This statement that I just made there is an assumption that is very rediculous. That's how rediculous it is to make assumptions about me and my playing and gambling.

I'm at the tail end of rehabbing my shoulder. The shoulder isn't an excuse but a reality. The arm is doing almost everything I want it to do. 12squared from Denver on AZ here just had shoulder surgery lately. He knows exactly what I went through since March 15th. The rehab is pretty brutal, painful and long. It takes 1 to 2 months just to get a fork of food to your mouth. For the last six months before the surgery I couldn't even drink a glass of water hardly with my right arm. If I played pool one day I could hardly play the next. Not only the pain but the arm just didn't work right. Your neck is always sore because those muscles try to make up for the ones that don't work in your shoulder.

2 bicep tears, the shoulder capsule was tore from top to bottom where the shoulder dislocated out through the front and I had every ligament in the shoulder reattached. My doctor said it was really screwed up. He couldn't believe I was even trying to play pool like that. The date of the injury was Nov 2008 so I played like this for quite a while hoping it would heal up. I didn't have the surgery until March 15th 2010. It was pretty tough.

The good news is that the shoulder doesn't hurt all the time anymore but it's still weak. There's alot of muscles that need to be built back up.

10 tp 12 months was the recovery time estimate for my shoulder. I'm so glad that I got it fixed. It really sucked before.

This weekend at the Carom Room in Beloit was the first time I could really break the balls with the full power that I had once before.

I have about 3 or 4 players to go play in the next couple of months that want to bet some serious money. I'm getting ready for these. I will be ready. If i lose I guess I just need to work harder and I will. Right now I have the ability to practice 10 hours a day which I couldn't do for a long time.

Since the thread got on here I have had about 4 or 5 players here in Minnesota that want part of the action. The money is not the problem. They know that I won't play to just play and that If I do play that I will be ready. They trust me and my judgement.

They're not backers but just friends that play that want part of the action. They see me play everyday.

I want this to happen with Chris and hope it does. This will be a huge test for me. I've never backed down from a fight on the pool table that I thought I had a chance to win.

Looking forward to whoever I play each and every week.

have a great day geno.......

Chris,

Like I said I have alot of respect for your game and the way you handle yourself. I want this to happen, in fact once I'm where I want to be I'll be making some I noise in this pool world again. It won't be free money for sure.

If it doesn't happen there will be a real sincere reason. Not an excuse I guarantee.

here's my phone number. Please call me sometime and I'd like to talk about when and where.

Chris,

The more I think about it the more excited I am about our match.
Right now I'm going through alot of exercise and rehab. I might be ready in a month and it might not be for 2or3 months but I want to be ready.

I'll know more about the time frame within the next 30 days.

If you want it to happen and so do I the rest is simple.

It's going to be a great match. Don't be too surprised when I call you to set up a time and place. Things we need to set up and agree on ahead of time.

I fell of a porch in Nov 2008. Had Surgery to repair March 15th, 2010.

Feels pretty good now but not real strong. Soon it will be 90%. That's the diagnosis but that will be great.

I think it will be a good matchup and very challenging.

Regardless what one misguided individual thinks about this coming about I'm pretty sure Chris and myself will be putting this together.

Unless I go broke trying to play players to get ready but I can't see that happening. I'll be playing some good player but no champions.

I need to make sure I'm comfortable with playing for the cash. Playing for the cash will take care of that.

We have some great players in the Twin Cities that can give me that kind of action.

I started getting ready for this to happen as soon as I saw the start of this thread.

Thanks for purchasing the video. If you have any questions feel free to call me anytime.

715-563-8712 Thanks again Geno....There are some things that you need to know that go along with Perfect Aim......

Hi there and thanks for your reply. I was pretty tired when I drove back from Beloit last night. I read your post and realised I didn't quite answer it completely.

I am in dead punch. Right now on a given day I can make all the shots and seem perfect. But on some shots because of the angle the shoulder is at I can't execute it correctly. Everyday it seems to get better though.

I know which shots these are and little by little it's coming around. Someone watching me play can't imagine the struggles I have went through trying to play like this especially 12 weeks after the surgery.

For 4 months I was in therapy 3 days a week. that was almost too much it seemed because of the pain. The next day after a therapy session the pain was real bad. The damage in my shoulder was pretty extensive.

The good news is that I am in dead punch now. I can practice everyday without much pain. Too me that seems like a miracle when I think back how it was 2 or 3 months ago. I thought I was never going to get it back all the way.

Somedays though the shoulder and arm gets so tired that I can hardly play. I think it's just still weak. In fact I know that's the problem. But I certainly don't want to wreck it by trying to lift too much.

But it's actually better than it was. I think I had damaged the shoulder at some time over the past 20 years in fact I know I did. Falling of the porch just really finally wrecked it beyond healing. I don't know which part was the old injury and which part was the new but the good news is my great surgeon,Dr. Drawbert from Eau Claire,Wi put Humpty-Dumpty back together again and from the looks of things right now he did a great job.

This match with Chris Bartram will happen. It has motivated me to excersize the way I should and practice as much as I possibly can. I needed something like this to get where I need to get with my physical health and my pool game.

It's brought that fire back.

I'll be ready.

If you talk to a few of my friends here in minneapolis there would be no doubt in anyones mind that this is going to happen. They can see the determination and dedication that I have the last 7 days.

I'm not stopping until I get to where I want to go......................

Blah blah. Blah blah. This is boring.

Geno, make up your mind. Are you in dead punch or not? Because first you say you are and you want to play "whoever I got" within a week. Then you tell Chris you should know within 30 days if you want to play or if you want to wait a couple months. It gets really confusing with you.

I've got an offer for you though. And trust me, this isn't just me posting to keep myself occupied. How about you come to Oshkosh and you play Chris "whoever I got" Bartram? It's kinda in the middle of Ohio and Minnesota so neither person is more worn out than the other. The Varsity Club now has pro cut pockets on the bar tables as well as the big tables. So how about you play a set on each? 10-ball, $5k bet. Oh, and you can get action on the side. Probably another few grand or so. And even though you're in "dead punch" right now, you can even have a couple weeks to get ready if you'd like. I know Chris would need a little time to pull himself away from donating at the poker tables so a couple weeks would probably work.

Umm, yep, that's all I got for now. Bring on the excuses!
