The Real Bartram vs. Geno The Machino

They haven't played yet? I would have bet good money that they would have played by now...not. Johnnyt

Geno was at my local pool hall last weekend for a tournament. I sent Chris a text asking if he wanted me to try and get a game setup for him with Geno. He said yes. He said he'd come to Wisconsin or they could play in Vegas if Geno was going to be there. So I asked Geno and he declined. He said he's got a job now and he needs eye surgery and his diabetes is an issue and even though he has a ton of backers ready to throw money at him to play Chris, he can't right now. He said he wants to, but not for at least 6 months. My opinion, this match will never happen and it's not because Chris doesn't want it to.

Matches

Very few, if any, of these type matches ever happen. Too many conditions set for playing, and one or the other ends up backing out. Remember, talk is cheap.

Hi there again suprnva.........

It was nice talking to you even though it was short.

There is nothing more that I would like to do than to call up Chris and say Hey I'm ready. But I'm not.

I told him I'd call him. And I will.

My shoulder is healed up about as good as it can get I think and that's better than it was for sure for the last 2 years. I did try to play with it all busted up for about a year. In Phoenix, Denver,Galvaston,US Open and a few other parts of the US but had a hard time playing 2 days in a row. It hurt too bad the second and third day.

So that's not an issue now.

I've been having trouble seeing out of my left eye (dominant eye) for about 6 months. Felt like I had something in it all the time. Now i get shiners when I look this way or that way.

I got a cataract on my left eye. It's not even fun to practice right now. It's hard to ficus on the shot.

I don't know when I can get it taken care of. I don't have insurance. Cost is too much for someone that's diabetic and had a stroke already. And sleep apnea.

But I'm not sitting though. I'm working as a sales contractor with Time Warner in the Milwaukee area. I'll be hiring some guys here within the next few weeks. Once the selling machine is working here I will be able to buy a pretty nice motorhome for about $30,000. With gas going up and up they are getting cheaper all the time.

I feel I need to buy a real nice one because I will be living in it 24/7 on the road going from pool hall to pool hall, state to state doing what i love doing only second to playing is teaching Perfect Aim.

I should be able to start doing this in about 6 months around Sept or oct.

This is my dream to try and help as many players learn this as possible.

When I traveled around from Jan 2009 until Dec 2009 and a few trips after that I logged around 400 personal lessons. There is nothing in the world as gratfying than helping someone improve their game so much so quickly.

When i travel to a town and give a couple of lessons and they tell all their friends how well it works I get about 10 more lessons right away.

Then after the other players start seeing how much better these players that learned Perfect Aim are shooting, they want to learn Perfect Aim.

I gave 114 lessons in Phoenix. About 25 in Las Vegas just before that. Then i went to Denver and gave about 35 there.

This was all in about 3 to 4 months. Living in and out of motel rooms.

This is the only way to reach the pool players with this. Most players just don't believe something like this can help them. They're skeptical. And I don't blame them. But when their friends tell them and they can see the results they just need to know.

This is my passion. I want to teach this and travel.

And believe me when i say you can't get rich doing this but it is what I enjoy. At 58 and diabetic I know I'm on the home stretch in life. At least the final 25% I hope. Maybe 10%. You never know?

I really don't care about building up a bank account. Just to be able to follow my dream.

If I close my right eye and look at the computer I can't even read anything with my left eye. If I move my head up and down I can see some here and there. I hope you never get a cataract ever but if you ever do you will know how hard it is to see.

The good news is I can do the work I do without both eyes. One works just fine.

I'm not a fool and would not even play $500 sets right now. I play some $100 sets with some guys around here but I am struggling but still winning. I especially wouldn't go play on my friends money being the way I am even though I might still play pretty good. But pretty good doesn't cut it on my money or theirs.

In 6 months I should have this eye fixed and be on the road again teaching and playing.

Not the life for everyone but it sure is for me.

Have a great day Geno..............

Good luck Chris. I hope you keep in action and keep on winning.

Reading your numerous replies to this thread makes me laugh. you are nothing but a blowhard about your skill level. I remember back in the 90s when Dick Olson was backing your play - you could not win against the better wisc guys. You call minneapolis your home now, well have your many backers put up some real money against BEAU or LEE and see who wins. JUST ANOTHER NEVER BIN spouting off.

A lil uncalled for !

AWW did Gene win all your money.

I was around alot back in the 90's and there weren't too many guys up yonder going looking for Gene. If they were, I wonder how many and how they did? I played him in about 94 or 95 and him and his "Thumper " were pretty impressive. ;)

You're right about Gene. He's far more polite than he needs to be. It's great to have a player of his caliber always posting and giving his perspective here in this forum. (And he can really play)

Even tho I've never met Gene I know what Ive read...He has stated that if he ever feels good enough that he would like to play Chris...He knows Chris is tough action & knows how he needs to feel & how he needs to play....Hell....He might never feel it but only he knows if & when...Only time action ever takes place is when both sides think they can win...Right now Chris thinks he can win & is waiting for Gene to feel the same way...PERIOD...some people just never get it.:)

How does the saying go?

"I'm not as good as I once was; but, I'm as good once as I ever was."

All I know is when I played Gene at Jimmy's Pool Room, he must've been as good once as he ever was because I only won 1 or 2 games in an hour and a half and I wasn't missing much. Heck, even when I played safe he ran out. Even with Gene's health problems, tooth aches, diabetes, blurry vision... he's still going to destroy a HUGE HUGE % of the players who post on azb and that's a fact. So, he's not gonna play Bartram. Big deal!! Yeah, like the guy giving Gene crap above is running over people to go play Bartram! Whoever is knocking Gene in this thread--- let's see THEM post up a few G's to play Bartram.

LOSER alert!! JMB

Scram keyboard troll.. I guarantee you that Gene has a ton of supporters and fans on AZ and elsewhere..

As others mentioned he is kind, willing to help anyone that gives him a call and unlike yourself, he is a valuable forum contributor.

He is not obligated to play Bartram and it's really none of your business what they do..

Gene has won plenty of tournaments and at least a couple of National Amateur titles to his name, how many do you have there big boy??

And you called Gene a "blowhard"!! Now that's funny stuff coming from someone like you, Mr. Anonymous..

Tap, Tap, Tap.....

I've talked to Gene numerous times. And he's always been nice.
And as far as playing, He can play strong. I had Gene in the calcutta in a tournament in the open tournament at the Carom room a couple months ago.
He came in just out of the money. He told me before the tournament ever started that he wasn't feeling too good & that he might not make the money. For not feeling good, he sure did play good. And the tournament was loaded with ringers, if I remember right, I think J. Bowman won it. Even after he was out of the tournament he went over a couple things with me.

Gene is a great player and a better human being. I know it's not going off as fast as some would like, but I still think they will play at some point. I also think it will be a good match.

Put me down as another fan of Gene's, and yes I have seen him play very strong. But the reason I am a fan is the way he has handled himself on the forum.
