Points for Master of the Table?

John watch out for forum fools, they second guess and lump people into groups without knowing at all what they are talking about. Then they tell the best players what they should have done and it never stops. Don't let them get you down bud. As to running the banks tourney late into the night I believe it was pure crazy if they want the best play out of the players. I hope they keep tweaking the software and do not have this happen in the future. I think they could do this easily if they are willing to finish the banks on Tuesday which makes sense or even finish by Wed. Just pushing it through on Monday does not help those late round bank players do well in the one pocket on Tuesday. So hang out a little ignore the trolls your presence is definitely appreciated.

Thanks Dana oops I mean Elvis. It's ok,there seems to be one In every crowd. Man,what a jerk that guy was or I mean Is.Thanks bud, JB

Hello Sir. Excuse me but I must try to defend myself from your bull shit. Excuse me again but the only time I tried to get a game was when I knew I had the time. One more, the ring game Is on friday nite. One more, and listen very carefully....they have NEVER ran the banks tourny late into the nite like they did.Oh and by the way since you seem to be one of those pool detectives, I never did get that game.Yep,you hit a nerve with me.It's bullshit like this why I'll not be coming here very often. Thanks alot
SIR JOHN BRUMBACK

John, I hope you don't bail because of a knothead, but if you do I understand. I enjoyed watching some of your matches on the accu-stats stream, very impressive. I appreciated the answers to bank questions in the earlier thread.
Thanks,
Bill

I'd agree with the masses, Mr. Brumback please don't go. I look forward to your posts and don't let one idiot that has no idea what he is talking about keep you away.

I sweated a bunch of your banks matches and enjoyed every one of them. I practice like a fool and hope to get near your level one of these days, but I'm not much younger than you so my chances are fading.

You are a very valuable member here and many of us enjoy your presence on the forum... Please ignore the morons and idiots.. There are plenty of them on all of the forums, not just AZ.

Peace, JoeyK

SIR JOHN BRUMBACK

It was such a pleasure to watch you play. I watched the last match and it was obvious you were worn down. I was too. The match with Alex was incredible, as were several other matches you played this year. {nice 12} Keep up whatever it is you have been doing, because it seems your speed is increasing every year. You inspire lots of people to play better, and to maintain a very definite degree of sportsmanship. A very nice change from some of the attitudes our sport has produced.

Aw Mojoe, man I appreciate the compliments.Well ok,you have talked me into staying.Maybe I shouldn't have went off on that guy like that but man that just hit me the wrong way. From now on I'll just put that kind on Ignore.

well anyway....You are never to old to keep Improving on banks.Look at me.
I'm 47 and I'm still learning and getting better. That's why I think that I love bankpool so much.I think you can keep learning new shots and safes and free shots in bank till your oh about 99 or 100.Another thing Is you don't have to see as good In bankpool as say 9 ball. Believe me, I have seen It first hand.Ever hear of Donnie Anderson lol

Ps: I learned a new bank today!! One for the book and dvd.Thank you.JB

Thank you Mr. Satman.I appreciate that very much. One of the main things
that I have Improved on would be staying down alot better.I always thought I stayed down good but untill I started to watch some of my accu stats tapes alot closer I started to notice that I was not staying down as good as I should have been.I have been working on that real hard the last 2 or 3 years and It really helped my game a bunch. Thank you again.John B.

Well let me say that there are more good guys here then bad. Like other posters have said it is cool to know your on the forum. I did not get to see you compete but I watched you warming up and even though you were goofing off WOW! I am 50 and have banking my whole life and loving it but you showed me much, thanks.

I just want to add to the love fest :). John, please stay. We need you and really appreciate your contribution to our sport and our family at AZB. Now more than ever you should keep your head down and not let one or two knuckleheads get to you.

Thanks for everything.

And, I know you don't/shouldn't remember, but I had the honor of practicing banks with you in maybe 2003 for about 10-15 minutes at DCC. I only wish I had a chance to shoot :). I was practicing for the 1-pocket and watching you bank scared the crap out of me! It was great.

Dave

John, I like your style, and was astounded by some of your straight back banks. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and don't let a few people ruin your day. They aint worth it, and your reputation comes shining through through your exemplary sportmanship as well as humbleness.

During one of your matches Danny D. and Billy Incardona called you a YOUNG man and said you are one of the favorites for the all around everytime you play. Don't get agitated on here it's not worth it. If Alex says you never let him shoot, that should be all they need to know!

Considered, yes.
Win vs. a guy who finished 1, 3, 9? NO WAY!
IMO:sorry:

For the record I think an all around is about being consistently good at all the games so Black-Balled I side with you. Unfortunately how do you keep score though? If you gamble at an all around it doesn't matter if you lose one set getting skunked or hill-hill does it? Same principle kind of applies here, SVB didn't do anything in the banks but his 1P win and 2nd in 9-Ball is also pretty strong.

I think it's hard to rate an all around so if it's results based it's tough to argue how SVB won. If it's common sense tough to argue that Alex didn't out perform SVB.

IMO:sorry:

Alex tied for 3/4 and split the combined points, the same was true for the 9th place finish, he tied for 9-12 (or close) and split the points. If he had finished 3rd by himself or 9th by himself (even 9/10th), he would have won the all around. He was beat out by only .2 points - it was very close :). So another way of looking at it is Alex had a 1st, top 4, and a top 12 (or 13) finish. Does that make it sound better that Shane won?

Yes, Alex had the more consistant finishes, but Shane had the top 2 finishes and earned more points by finishing 1st & 2nd alone. Again, they both played great but I don't think Alex was robbed, just unfortunate. If one or two other were knocked out of the 9-ball before Alex was and Alex played the same, he would have won. But that didn't happen. It was the perfect storm for Shane.

John, did you happen to see Alex's comments about you in his interview with Sammy Diep right after the Banks final? In case you didn't, here you go:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YLqti-Olc0

Aw now...I think I let him shoot a couple times anyway.hehehe.
I got to tell ya.I got to set aroud with Alex and his crew, from the "PP "
(sp help) but boy that was some of the most fun I have had down there at the DCC.
All those guys are super cool!! They were telling me all about how It Is over there.Wow Is all i can say about it right now.Him and crew have It good. But the most do not.

Ps: Alex's fav. food Is...well I just can't say It on here.Just ask him!! LOL
Man he cracks me up.John B.

First place is 120, 2nd is 100, 3rd is 80, 4th is 60 points, 5th is 50, 6th is 50, 7th is 40, 8th is 40, 9th is 30, 10th is 30, 11th is 30, 12th is 30, 13th is 29 points. Alex Pagulayan won the Bank Pool for 120 points. He was tied for 3rd and fourth and he was awarded 70 points (80+60 divided by 2) in the One Pocket.
If I could change the rules I wouldn't make it possible for 3rd and 4th places to tie. Ten whole points is A LOT to lose (or gain). Third and fourth places should be decided by head-to-head record in that round. If they haven't played together, then another match can be played to determine 3rd and 4th.

If the scoring was done this way, then Alex would have earned sole position of 3rd place in the one pocket tournament since he already beat Daulton. He would have had 80 points instead of 70 points in the one pocket round and the Master of the Table would be his.

But the rules are the rules. It would probably be best to keep them the way they are then to change them now.
