The Legends & Champions show came through Saint Louis last night, and it was a great time. Johnny started by walking through a rack of 9-ball and a rack of 8-ball and explaining his thought process in real time. Then we got a little Q&A along with a few stories, followed by a great trick shot exhibition by Nick. Finally, there was a series of Scotch Doubles matches where spots were raffled off. Some chump even won a pretty blue cue signed by both Johnny and Nick (you can see it in one of the pictures if you look really close :grin:).

I have to say, for two people who've accomplished so much, Nick Varner & Johnny Archer were two of the most humble, down-to-earth folks I've ever met. They both freely answered questions, interacted with the folks who came out to see them, and even made a concerted effort to get a few kids involved in the show. Pure class.

STLJohnny and I also got a chance to hang out with Mark Cantrill a little during the show. What a riot he is. Mark is putting a ton of work into this as well as a some other matches/promotions and really seems to be on top of things.

If you get a chance, please go out and support these guys. For $10 you get to see a great show with two of the best players who've ever walked the face of the earth. What more could you ask for?

LOOKS like you had lots of fun,your top picture looks normal,the one with you and johnny looks like you seen a ghost,i guess that would happen to a lot of us,when you are standing next to 1 of the greatest players ever!
 
I took the day off work and also signed up for the clinic portion; and man was it worth it! Johnny and Nick are very personable, very down-to-earth and are open to answer any question you have; regardless of the subject matter. I asked Johnny about the mental game, and Bonus Ball because I haven't seen anything about it forever (it's coming, don't worry). I asked Nick about one pocket and banks.

And the stories... man oh man - the STORIES!!! BWAHAHAHAHAA!!

I really can't say enough about how much of a good time I had all day with these guys. If Johnny or Nick was busy, Mark was there chatting it up. He is really putting everything he has into making this work. Running around the place making sure the guys are taken care of - as well as the fans. If someone wants a photo or an autograph, he makes sure it happens. (they didn't charge for either)

I have a bunch of video to get through; some I can post, others I can't - but I will post this little bit from the trickshot portion of Nick's exhibition. It required some crowd participation, and I gotta wonder just how often you ever see Nick Varner blush!

@Richie - The lighting was terrible where we were and after trying a few different cell phones, I thought I'd try my handi-cam (Zi8) - at this point we were all tired of posing for pictures. lol
 
It was actually in St. Charles, a suburb of the greater St. Louis area, at Side Pockets.

LOL. I walked over and Johhny pretty much grabbed me, spun me around, and said "hey buddy, great to me you!". Needless to say, I was a little taken aback that he was so friendly and the picture was snapped before I had a chance to recover :grin:
 
We had a great time at Side pockets and hope that we can come back again in the future. I know that STLJohnny has some more footage that will be awesome fun to see. Hope he posts it soon. Thanks to everyone there who helped us in one way or another. Oh also need to thank Watchez for getting our room comped at the local casino.
 
STLJOHNNY, where is that other footage you have? FYI, I'm back in Phoenix and its in the 80s :)

Great to put a face with a name Mark - and I was glad to be able to help you guys out. If you ever have a return visit, don't hesitate to ask and I will be happy to do so. Next time, we have to make time for a dinner as well. Hope to see you in Vega$ in May.

Oh, and let us not forget, that my good friend Andy Quinn put a thumping on Johnny that night, playing almost flawless pool. I told Johnny to get ready because he wasn't going to be playing the paper boy. :)

I've just about finished putting the clips together in a nice little packaged video for you. Should have it done sometime this week.

80's... hrmph. it was (again) 4 degrees on wednesday here. Although today, it's supposed to get to 54. so... yeah.

@Watchez - I never got around to introducing myself to you - but I stood next to you for a good portion of the Andy Quinn match; I was the (bald) guy holding the little handheld pocket camera.
