I would like to know how all the AZB fans and members pool game is going in 2011?

Tom, your game is perfect.. Great!

I started the year slowly but my game has been taking off the last month. I've won the Wendsday night tournament in Providence, Rhode Island a couple of times and finished second once.

My break is working great and I'm getting out most of the times, I should.

It's been fun playing lately.

Congrats, are in order for you Tom. I love to hear that a person game is going like your game is in 2011. All I can say is wonderful! I think you started the New Year out on a very positive note!!! I appreciate your response. Talking about your game helps your game. Thanks. Keep me informed, Tom?

What can I say Underclocked! Wonderful...

Took 2nd in the Missouri State 9 ball Amateur Championship this past weekend.

Would have won first but I had quietly lost my mind during the second match of the finals.

Hello Underclocked,
I think you did very well, in your runner up effort in the tourney. You should have had a great feeling about yourself! Man, I know a lot of people that would have loved to be runner in a state amateur championship tourney. Congrats are in order for you. Keep up the great work! How did you lose your mind? I would like to hear about that! I appreciate your response and hearing the good news. Thanks. Keep me informed! Your year 2011 is going Great!

I play doubles on Tues. night (I hate doubles!), so that me and the wife can play together, she's a pretty good shot..... But anyway, we went 2 for 3 and my game has come back around. Had a break and run out and a break and ran 6 balls then played a safe, the wife did the rest... Oh yea they ran out on the break in the 2nd game... Thanks for the words of advice, it did help!!!!

Congratulations, Undie! The guys told me yesterday that an elderly gentleman has come in second, and since I wasn't there I knew it must have been you. Well done.
It was the Ibuprofen, wasn't it?

I am gld to be of help to you BL. You are welcome!

My game feels refreshed........and my shooting at the recent onepocket tournament at caspers showed that......i felt very comfortable in all but two of my matches and I played quite a many matches over the 4 days I was there.

learned how to stay ahead and beat the stall and also how the stall can come back to beat you..........

my pool game at the house is ahhhh sadly nonexistent as I've finally gotten everything moved but now have to reinstall the table..........Sooner hopefully than later b/c I dam sure love hitting balls in my house in a little peace and quiet.

Looking for this year to involve much much more playing and tournaments the likes that I havent done since I lived in the midwest not too many distant years ago.....hope to meet as many of you as I can on my future travels this coming year.

All you have to do now is get that table up in the house and you are going to be a person to contend with. I hope to meet you as well. What part of the Midwest did you live in, GreyGhost? I like your goal for 2011, on playing more, more, and more. That should make you even better than you are at this point. Remember stay focused and keep your thoughts on your game and improving it! You want to be Lock proof don't you? If you slip just a little bit, the Lock will be there to catch you!

I like players that shoot real good and never whine about getting beat! Wow! Lock Proof sounds like a good Lock name for you in the Lock Society! He, He, He.... Let me knoe how you are making out with your game and getting the table up and running! I appreciate your response. Thank you.

My Game

LocknLoad,
Ive been busy the last few years, got one in college so Ive had to hustle at everything I do and dont get to spend entire weekends playing a lot of the time because Im working at something.
Im starting to think a little more about me and while Im still working Im taking the time to sit down just a bit and that rest has helped my game. Ive worked on that book and finally its done. As usual as soon as the book was done something else came to take its place and I as usual stepped up to the plate --again-- and now Im thinking----maybe not. Maybe I just work my job, my business and make a little more time to play. Ive been blessed with some really tough competition to play and I think that maybe I should spend more time getting to them for a whole lot of reasons. I see my game now going higher and higher, its just great to be able to have some time to play. Sorta makes life worth living in a world where working for the man is just a little less satisfying than playing pool.

Good Thread,

Robin, as long as you are working at quality goals, you are doing great! Period! And your pool game is going good in 2011, what more can you ask for? Thanks on the compliment on my thread being a good one. I guess a lot of people do not want to discuss their game or goals for 2011! This thread is open to all people on AZB. Sometime talking about something will bring out all of your problems and you can work on them. But, some people do not realize this fact. This thread was started in sincere effort to have people lay it on the line and talk about it if it is good or bad! Your pool game is very important to you if you like pool. This thread has had a lot of views, but not many responses as it could have! I would like to hear from people all over the world about their pool game, or whatever they want to talk about in that regards. And their pool goals, in 2011....

I appreciate your kind response Robin. You sound like a super nice guy! I am glad your goals are in the right directions and your game is improving very well. Please keep me informed! Thanks again.

OK, Lock Proof of the Lock Society,
I am glad to hear your table is going up today. And that you are trying to get your game up and up where you want it to be. So, you like the name Lock Proof! Please do not think that the Lock cannot prevail in a match! Because he can! For Real!!! I see you have lived in some great places.... Is, it not nice to be able to talk about things going on in your life? We only live once, and tomorrow is not promised to anyone. That means you live each day to the full extent of it. And enjoy your life, and the people in your circle. Today is a present to you and your family. It is a real pleasure to meet you Lock Proof. I appreciate your time and your response. I am going to give you the 6 when we play, the game will be 6 ball! He, He, He...

this is a good thread, i like it. lets see, first off, my game is better so far in 2011 than it ever was in 2010. i am pocketing balls better, ive improved my stroke, ive improved my fundamentals, i stay down on the ball better. its a great start for my year ahead. i am working on my banks and breaks. i feel as if im getting better everyday i go to the pool room. thanks for the post.

2011 has been full of surprises...

I went to pool school in Dallas and have been working hard on my fundamentals and mechanics since last November. Now that I practice with a purpose I learn something useful everyday when I am at the table. I play/practice for at least 3 hours a day, and it definately shows up in my game. I fell in love with the game all over again, and now all I have to do is work on my nerves. I have really bad anxiety when I compete and all it's like I forget all of my basics. When people see me play they say I look like two totally different players. That's my goal for this year, to calm down at the table and get over the nerves. And I REFUSE to use drugs or alchohol as a means to get over it.

P.S. RandyG is the man...:D

Hello Rusty,
You do not sound so regular to me. Your game is doing very well! And you are working on the right things to make it even better in 2011. Even with it being better this year you are still working on your banks and breaks, that is very important. You better post a photo on here so people will know who to avoid in your area! They might get their feelings hurt! Thanks for the thanks on my thread. I appreciate it. I thank you for your response as well. Do a little work on your kicks, and stroke while you are at the table! Your new Lock Society name is, you guessed it! Rusty Lock! Now keep on living up to your new AKA name! People will notice that you are unbeatable!!!!! Thanks again, and keep me informed!

You are like the new Kid on the block in 2011! Great!

Man, oh, man! Pool school, 3 hours a day practice when you are at the table. I love to hear that! You are on the right track almost all of the way. I am proud of you so far! Now about your Bad Anxiety, let us cover that! First you need to focus 100% more than you do now in a match, Pay deadly Attention to all aspects of everything going on in the match, watch the person you are shooting with, very close. Think about your every move on the table, think more than one shot ahead in your match. Drink water and orange juice! I like the part about you saying no to drugs and Alcohol!!! very good on your part. Keep your focus, on your shots and shape! Add 4 more strokes to every shot in your match! Count to the amount of strokes in your head, and think hard about what is going on in your game! Think about how your opponent will shoot when it is their turn at the table! Stay Focused at all times! The only nerves you should be thinking about is how bad a hurting you are putting on your opponent's Back side!! Think about if you are going to put 1 foot or both on their back side. Now you have no room for any type of Anxiety. Anxi who!! See you forgot all about the garbage in your great Game of Pool already!

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. Try this AKA name on, Lock Tight! Of the Lock Society... let me know it any of this helped you and your game. Chew several sticks of gum, Juicy fruit in your mouth to get your focus in the right place! I use to do that when I was in a big money match. I do not drink smoke, nor do drugs either.

"The guys told me yesterday that an elderly gentleman has come in second"

Thanks Tramp but man have I got that particular bunch of guys fooled!! Gentleman! :yikes: :D But yes, it could have been all the ibuprofen. :)

Lock, I would really rather not say what makes me say I lost my mind even though everyone here would surely agree with me. Let's just say it has to do with lucking a ball in and feeling too much guilt about it.

2011 for me has been filled with extreme opposites. One week I'm taking lessons from a fantastic coach and really feeling like I'm advancing, and then the next week I'm flat on my back laid low from a lower back injury. I've had to fade coaching an 8ball apa match which took 90 min for a race to 2 and but then i also have been fortunate to enjoy a much finer apa moment when on the brink of elimination in my match during playoff finals my opponent dogged an 8 on the hill and i was able to respond by running three racks and out to snap off the $840 cheese.

Im hoping to play in more cash tournaments this year than last. My goals this year are to improve, play more 14.1 at home and run 100. Come prepared to apa nationals and the us amateur.

I have two sons whom I adore and when it comes down to it, Id rather go camping with them than play another pool tournament. So whatever my
pool goals are this year, I always know one thing. There will always be
another pool tournament but my boys will only be 8 and 10 once.

Sorry to hear abut your back! Get well soon....

Hello Uwate,
Your boys will only be, 8 and 10 once, I like that statement! I hope your back gets better soon! It looks like your game was and still is going well for 2011, $853.00 with a bad back! Very good. man! You are at a high with your game in lieu of the opposites you mentioned.... Put more focus in your 2011 game plan! Take it slow and easy until a full recovery is done. And then get back on track. Watch some good pool DVDs and tapes! Read a few good books on improving your few weak points. Go camping with the family. Sounds great to me for now! I appreciate your response. Let me know how you are coming along with your game and your back!

Meet me in Buffalo's Billiards tonight and I will play you and see if it sucks! Let me know? I appreciate your response. Don't tell Johnny Archer beat you and now you think your game sucks either! Your game only sucks if Lock N Load beats you 5 in a row! He, he, he.... Giving you the 7 and out plus the breaks! Orange Crush is the 5 and the breaks!
