For the 2nd time in their match, Earl is protesting where Dennis is putting the cue ball on his breaks - Earl contends it's illegal over the headstring line. TD Ken Schuman and Jay have had to intervene.

Dennis and Earl have exchanged words...

Earl is up 4 - 3 at the moment.

Stay tuned!

Ruling

It's the base of the ball, isn't it? Interested in what the ruling was/is.

5 - 4 Earl.

Dennis is playing with his ultra deluxe Gulyassy hatchet cue and Earl is playing with his ultra l-o-n-g extra h-e-a-v-y Gulyassy cue.

Who do you suppose Mike G is rooting for? :)

Will comment more on the ruling later.

Back to the match...

Earl pulls it out!

Up next, a red-hot Rodney Morris.

Keep it going Earl!

Earl!!!!

Go Earl.

On the 'head string' discussion. If I am playing someone and they contest that my cue ball is too far forward - I will just move it back 1/8" (which is usually all it takes) to be behind the head string (and not on the head string).

That little bit (1/8") is not going to make any difference.

I personally think that is just being courteous.

I don't put this in the category of 'Earl's antics' - I think he is correct. The cue ball should be 'Obviously' behind the string. (jmho)

Earl complained about this same exact thing when he played Dennis at Turning Stone.

Dennis then proceeded to walk around the table and draw a line with his cue each rack to make sure his ball wasn't over the line.

They both went on for the entire match about this.

Wasn't there a sequence at that turning stone match where Earl complained to Dennis about the placement of the ball and then Dennis touched it without moving it back at all and Earl said that was okay then. Totally hilarious stuff!
