100% Cotton NOT Allowed?

I was looking at the WPBA dress code for the upcoming RTC and noticed this...

DRESS CODE
This event will be WPBA dress code "A". Dress Slacks, skirts below the knee, or divided skirts below the knee, to be worn with coordinated tops and/or jackets, and dress shoes.
100% cotton is NOT allowed
No plain white T’s or polos
No graphic T’s
Athletic style shoes may be worn provided they meet the following criteria:
Dark colors only, no white
Tread/sole should be thick
Shoes need to have dress laces and be in excellent condition
Shoes should look good with dress pants

Seems odd!

What the hell difference does sole thickness make as far as appearance goes ???

These are some of the goofiest written rules I have ever seen.

I'd like to see them actually control this. "Excuse me maam, please lift your skirt so we can check the tag". Yeah right.

Maybe they don't want anyone to come.

Sounds stupid to me.... gotta wonder about that kind of leadership.

LOL! It must be a typo. Maybe "not" should be "now." That's a common error folks make. In fact, it's in the top ten errors made according to the GPO.

Well if it is 'now' allowed-that implies it was 'not' allowed recently so same almost the same thing in my book.

Polyester has come a long way for sure. Im sure many remember those early 'knits' that snagged on everything and melted under a hot iron and looked like crap to boot.

Nope, sorry, I don't remember that :sorry:. I guess I'm not the fashion guru that others may be ;).:grin::grin:

That's because leather is not 100% cotton! Didn't you read the first posting? In anycase, I see a market for 99% cotton blends for WPBA tour members.

You notice they allow leather pants for Jeanette Lee.

For Pete's sake, what are they trying to turn pool into golf, like the PGA or some such nonsense? Who really gives a rats ass what clothes someone is wearing? I mean come on! :kma:

The reason for the 100% cotton rule is to eliminate any arguments over what constitutes a T-shirt.
There is nothing wrong with maintaining an image. Last time I looked, the Women are playing on TV, and the men are are not. (At least around here)

I don't think so. Many t-shrts are 50/50 or even 90/10, cotton/polyester blends. The good t-shirts and polos are 100% cotton, but not all by far.
Seems like the oddest rule ever. I will be there is full force inspecting all articles of clothing...no charge....

Wow

Maintaining an image is fine , however that has nothing to do with why the women are on TV and the men are not.

This is just plain wrong. The persons responisble for this rule really need to do a google search on cotton shirts.

There are some really nice 100% cotton shirts out there and they are not t shirts.

Such as:http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10788213&parentPage=family

And there's more......Like these http://www.rainbowhawaii.com/10cohahi.html

Dress codes do have a place, however common sense is also needed in the code making process.

What if a person has a disability where one leg is shorter, and has a orthopedic shoe sole that is 1.5 inches thicker that the other.
