A friendly challenge to joey a

It has been around 2 1/2 years since we played at Skeeter's in Gulfport, MS, and broke even.

I am sure that you are playing better now that you have mastered CTE. As you know I am a non believer in aiming systems and am a little older (almost 72), but would enjoy a friendly match of one pocket if we have time and you will be in Las Vegas for the One Pocket Tournament in May. We can play by the game like we did before or a short session.


If you beat me I promise I will let you or anyone else give me a CTE lesson. If I win I will play a set of 9 Ball to give you a shot at getting even. John Henderson

John, you have unfinished business with Al Romero first. He's coming up to see you the end of April at California Billiards. Race to Five for 4K, right? I'll be there working both events. As for Joy Boy, leave him alone. I saw him first :grin:! Just kidding, I hope you two can get it on. I'd sweat that.

Little Al and Hendy ? I'd sweat that too !!! Everytime you post Jay, I miss SoCal a little more. But, then I think of the bumper to bumper on the 405 at 4AM on a Sunday and feel a little better. :thumbup: Al Romero is the man, glad to hear he's still kickin'.

Not trying to hijack John, sorry. Maybe CTE only works in the high humidity of LA ? (Love 'ya Joey).

Dam almost 72 and still jumping in the fire,there arent many around or lefted like you MR.HENDERSON,i hope you keep going strong,for a lot longer,GOD BLESS YOU !

I beleive the match with Al will be streamed during the $4,000 added One Pocket Tournament at California Billiard Club in Mtn View on April 27-28-29.

We will fit the match in when the tournament is not going on.

Looks like he doesn't need any extra $$ Jay. I was willing to blow a nice number just to learn CTE, and if I should get lucky in the one pocket, I know I have the worst of the 9 Ball.

The social security checks just keep piling up. I will have enough for Al.

Indeed, I thought you just wanted to do a little friendly gambling John.

Now you're suggesting you want to learn CTE/Pro One for a big fee? The naysayers must have put you up to this. Normally, I would send students to see Stan but I will try to make myself available in Vegas, before or after I play in the tournament. :D

I would like to do a little friendly gambling and no one put me up to anything.

I have joined in on the naysayers side because I have never had much faith in aiming systems. I also enjoy the humor evoked by some of the naysayers in response to the almost religious fervor demonstrated by many of CTE followers. That is a turnoff in itself.

I will admit I have also never spent much time trying to learn a system. When I heard Hal trying to explain his system(s) 30 years ago, it seemed way too complicated for something I could already do naturally.

I could be wrong. Show me.

I still would like to play some.

I'm just joking with you about teaching you CTE/Pro One. As far as showing you, that you might be wrong, well that's not my cup of tea. I don't want to, nor do I care to prove anything to anyone, especially about CTE/Pro One and especially you. You are satisfied with how you play (which is quite well) and how you aim. There is no need for you to learn anything new and I understand that perfectly.

My participation in these threads has been limited to admonishing the Naysayers for their mean-spirited comments about my friend Stan Shuffett and in general the unkind manner in the way that the naysayers have bullied the CTE proponents.

I go to pool tournaments to compete in pool tournaments not to gamble.

It is an opportunity for me to gauge my progress or lack of progress against the best players in the world. It is a chance to learn more about this game as well as an opportunity to steel myself in circumstances that I don't normally face on a regular basis. Out of all of the things that I like doing in pool, high level tournament play is my favorite.

Gambling at pool is also something I enjoy doing but the two of them don't mix well together, at least for me. And since I don't need the money, I don't need to gamble. It is simply another aspect of pool to entertain me with the game I love.

I have really had my eye on THE GINGERBREAD MAN for a long time and he has agreed to play me but so far I have been unable to catch him. I know that if I play you and get lucky enough to win, THE GINGERBREAD MAN will never be seen by my eyes again.

In Gulfport, MS, you spanked me pretty good. You won twice as many games as I did and I only escaped the trap because I upped the bet and got lucky in winning a couple of the bigger bets. You were a gentleman to gamble with and I wouldn't have a problem doing some friendly gambling with you if some of the one pocket tournament players get lucky against me and send me packing early. (I'll bring a little extra dough to contribute to your retirement fund)

I plan on playing a while in the tournament but cash a couple of those Social Security checks before they expire, just in case my plans change.:wink:

I guess I should start a separate thread to woof at him and Da Fish. ;)
