I just found out today, the people who were going to let us use the table for free have now decided I guess that we will be making money (I Hope) and the fee to borrow the table has gone up from free to $2,000 for the event. I just can't do that I'm afraid so I am going to work on it. Sorry but I didn't want anyone betting with pocket size being a factor so I will update when I know exactly how tight we can get them. Again sorry but I didn't know that a 2k bill was coming my way for a 3 day rental.

Wow, that dude needs to get some treatment from Earl. I can't imagine either one of them, Earl or Johnny, happy about this latest turn of events. I see Earl exploding over this one before it even starts. I do hope that you are in contact with both players about this. Obviously you are, I just wanted to say it.

Dont they realize the money they will be takeing in just from haveing the event from booze and food ? That should have been disclosed when the match was set up and they said you could use their place. It will bring them buisness all that week actually. Ok, just to clear this up on the table issue. We were having a table brought in for the match and so it has nothing to do with the pool room owner of Drifters. I just didn't want anyone to think that they are to blame. However we got it figured out and I just got a message saying that they will be playing on a 9ft Gandy and the pockets will be 3 7/8 So still tight pockets and the players are fine with it. So after that scare back to work for a bit.

That is too bad Mark. Sounds like a great "greedy" supporter of pool changing the fee to $2,000 in the middle of things. Glad to see you got things sorted, I'm sure the work involved in setting something like this up is quite strenuous to say the least. No worries and thank you for your help taking care of the table. I just spoke to Johnny and we talked about the table and he is totally fine with it he and Earl used to play on those Big G tables all the time as Gandy was based in Macon, Ga so they are both accustom to the table maybe not that table having such small pockets though.

That's funny Neil... I like the shot clock to keep every shot from going to long but there are times when I would like them to have extra time to figure out what to do. I know they have an extension, I just want to see their best play and how they move.

My prediction for what it's worth is that this match will be the complete opposite of what we saw last week. Once again I'll take Johnny here, the window is open.

Johnny's not going to lose to Earl, at least on regular equipment; Earl will have to beat him. They'll probably both shark each others brains out. Johnny's pace will drive Earl up the wall and Earl's ability to create a surreal Hunter S Thompson environment will unsettle...well anybody.

You are right that it can't happen because of the shot clock. But I was thinking about Johnnys' reaction if Earl threw a bag of lint on the table. (imagine the horror struck face and panic attack) Then Earl calmly giving Johnny his magnifiying glass and just calmly sitting there eating dinner while watching Johnny frantically trying to get each little piece of lint off the table. Talk about a shark move!:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

Johnny says he's going to try and shark Earl, Earl should just have a little bit of lint in his palm and drop it on the table as he takes his first shot. Do that 3-4 times, and Johnny will be on tilt trying to figure out where all that lint is coming from! And, use up half the shot clock trying to remove it!

Earl could use his cue to knock dirt out of the rafters.
