Pawn Shop Cues

Just picked up a Predator Bk2 with the sport wrap and a Predator Sneaky Pete on craigslist today with an instroke case, all brand new... Paid 270 bucks.

About 15 years ago a guy passed through our local room with an ebony merry widow he was using as a break cue. I asked him about it and he said he was in Vegas on vacation and bought it in a pawn shop for $50. Well. I didn't know at the time what it was but it looked like "something" to me. I told him I'd give him $100 for it, he'd double his money and I would have a new break cue. Done deal! I sent it back to Vegas to SW and it came back with a letter as a very early Kersenbrock/Franklin. I kept it a few months then sold it for $950.

i was sitting in a restaraunt today st lunchtime and happened to look up and see a pawn shop accross the street. it jogged my memory about this thread. i went across the street to see what they had. he had 5 sticks, i bought 2 of them. i bought a real nice mcdermott, it looks practially new. for 140.00, he was asking 180.00. i have owned 2 mcdermotts and still have 1. it is a black widow model. i will admit i dont have much knowledge about all the different models of mcdermott but this is the 1st one that i have ever seen with a stainless steel joint in the forearm. i would appreciate it if anyone could gine me some info on this stick.
the other stick is a pechaur. got it for 40.00, he was asking 75.00. it is a plain stick. all solid purple heart i believe. im no expert on wood either lol. it has an ebont buttcap and ebony joint on the forearm. it has no bumper and a square bolt in the butt. i got 2 shafts. 1 with a long ivory ferrel and is missing the tip. the other shaft has a ferrel and tip combo i have never seem before. the ferrel is almost transparent, you can see the end of the shaft inside the ferrel when you hold it up to a lightsourse. it looks like tip and ferrel is one piece. im guessing its phenolic. havent had any experience with them any info would be greatly appreciated on this stick also.

I have not found much in the realm of cues at a hawk shop, but the middle cue, a late 60's NY/NJ area custom titlist conversion, I picked up in January of this year. The Runde on top I found on craigslist in Portland, Oregon, the Runde Schon R-6 on bottom I found on craigslist in Racine, WI.

I found these a few weeks ago at a hawk shop and ended up with really nice Darrin Hill out of the trade.

Some guy sold his Autographed Willie Mosconi Collection
on Pawn Stars last night ... 9-Ball, Pictures, Book, Cue & Case.

Couldn't get a good look at the Cue, but the Case was a POS.

Rick was clueless on that one and the guy was expecting much more.

While on vacation a few years ago, I bought a Ray Shuler cue for $200 from a pawnshop in NC. Later sold it on eBay for $350.

I had a kid pawn a Schon STL4 to me for $20, and he wound up not coming back for it. It had one of the early (pre-panther) 314 shafts with it also. I still play with it off and on.

You're a sick individual to only offer a kid $20 in pawn on a Schon. lol

Predator First Edition 4K-2 (I think) with 3X6 case. 125.00
Shurtz 4-point. 125.00
Old Huebler. 25.00
Really old Verl Horn. 25.00
Passing over all of the priced higher-than-new McDermotts only to find them. Priceless.
