Gus

Too much distance between the base of the points for a Szam. Heck of a nice player! I bet it hits them great.

I'm not sure. I think it's just super dirty cortland. I'll ask or look closer today dean. This was the first custom cue I ever played with. Hell of a way to start hitting balls huh. Lol had no clue what it was or what it was worth. This cue hits like a run away freight train.

Who confirmed it to be a Balabushka? Craig Peterson built cues that looked identical to Balabushka & played every bit as well or better. And he used birds eye maple where Balabushka generally refused to. Being a Peterson wouldn't make it less valuable, either, IMO.

The BEM was the deciding clue for me too.

That and the length of the butt sleeve is very long for Bushka. Two traits of Peterson that isn't shared by Bushka. Personally, i'd rather have a Peterson. I'd be tickled pink happy as a two peckered puppy if I fell in to an old Peterson. One of the cues i'd love to have in my collection.

Hmmm I'll definately pass the info on to him. I believe John wright was who said it was a bushka. I could be wrong so I'll double check with him tonight. What would a cue like this be worth? Is he better to leave it as is?

The wrap

Silk? Easy to tell. Also X-ray it. Most vets charge under $50.
You are welcome to send me it! It looks Double George. That origional wrap would be hard to fade. Makes it's own special kind of sound when you slip stroke on it!!
Nick :)

Dunno what value would be exactly. You might contact Dick Abbot from Billiardcue.com & ask him what he thinks. It may not even be a Peterson. But it looks more like one than a Bushka, to me. And it may not be either one. No matter what, it's not going to be worth much as is without some type of authenticity. If you had some solid recorded history on the cue besides here say, it could really boost the value. Provenance goes a LONG way in value. If it can be proven to be a legitimate Bushka or Peterson, then it would certainly be over $5G's, IMO. But proving it is the tough part. Very nice cue, regardless.

It's a bushka.
You can tell from the inserts.

chris G<--------not talking about the brass either, though that fits too
