how to tell old vs new rail Diamonds?

The local pool hall purchased some Diamond tables not too long ago including some seven footers. I thought they were supposed to be new design but the seven footer I tried banked short, very short. They did put it in the hottest muggiest place in the pool hall and I was sweating marbles just hitting a few balls.

I can break out calipers on the outside of the table to measure nose heights and such, doubt I can do much disassembly on the tables. :D Any easy way to be absolutely certain which rails and subrails are on the table? I can compare them to the older design nine footers if that helps. There are some four or five year old nine footers there too.

I believe the newer tables have a blue Diamond logo on the short rail? and the older ones have a red Diamond logo

From what I can tell, and I preface this by saying I am by no means an expert, they changed the cushion angle on the new ones. If you look at where the cushion meets the wood part of the rail, the old setup they are flush and the new way the cushion is dropped down so there is a little more of a "gap". That's the best way I can describe it.

blue emblem, Thanks to All!

Definitely the blue emblem, I'll have to compare the way the rail and cushion meet up between the new and older Diamonds. I have to admit being a bit disappointed, the table was playing very short yesterday. However the AC wasn't reaching that area of the pool hall and it was very hot and sticky. The table also had the grabbiest rails I can ever remember playing on. Rail first shots hammered the object ball into the same rail, I had to make a major adjustment. A very tough little table to play on down in the swamp. I suspect 10 degrees cooler and a little drier would make a big difference though.

Thanks to everyone for the information!

I think that Brandoncook had it correctly. If you run your fingers under the bottom of the rail you can feel the rubber slightly overlaps the rail by about 1/16 of an inch. There was another thread not to long ago and I believe Glen stated this as well. The emblem itself can be misleading as some of the red emblem rails may have been updated without adding a new blue emblem. I have played on new red (not updated) and new blue rails and I love the new blue ones. They seem slightly more responsive, that may seem to make them bank a little shorter but IMO they are a superior design and you just adjust the bank accordingly. Banking can change on any table according to humidity and several other factors so good bankers are always adjusting to the playing conditions at the moment they are playing.. JMO!

I thought that new new blue label diamonds were corrected NOT to bank short.
