This hijacked thread kinda makes me,

For What it's Worth - Buffalo Springfield

feel

Glad All Over - Dave Clark Five

and I'm no longer

Uptight, Everything is Alright - Stevie Wonder.

I thought about this

All the Day and All of the Night - The Kinks

while I was tied to the

Whipping Post - The Allman Brothers Band

doing dishes with my

Oh, Pretty Woman - Roy Orbinson.

There I was

Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin

and decided that I wanted to be a

Ramblin' Gamblin' Man - The Bob Seger System.

So...I got touched by

The Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum

and decided to go back to the

Beginnings - Chicago.

Yep, you are right,

She's Not There - The Zombies

anymore. But, that's okay because

I Gotta a Line on You - Spirit

even though I will be forever known as the

Back Door Man - The Doors.

Dave...What? No Santana Abraxis...??? No Firesign Theatre (my sides ached for a week the first time I listened to them)?

Had them both and many more, just not my 1st 3 albums I ever bought. Nice bringing up Firesign Theatre, wow that was some funny stuff.

I also had a extensive Zappa collection that is now gone, I should have never donated my albums before moving to Colorado, I miss them. Anyone remember Ultimate Spinach? That was an obscure album. How about Lee Michaels & Frosty? Amboy Dukes? It's a Beautiful Day was mentioned earlier but I loved them, too.

The first 'big' concert I went to was Three Dog Night. Opening acts were The Faces (before Rod Stewart was headlined) & Johnny Winter Band. They were all great, but surprisingly, Three Dog Night killed it. Because I grew up in Detroit area, we had J. Giles Band, Bob Segar, Motown, etc. it was way fun to be around during that time.

We were listening to Santana's first album before that was released. Also Leon Russell, Joe Cocker (Mad Dogs & Englishmen), Janis Joplin, Doors, Jethro Tull, Stones & Beatles of course, Yardbirds, Spirit, Allman Brothers (greatest jamming band of all time - even better that Grateful Dead), too many to name. Then there were all the jazz, too. I still listen to the classic rock stations more than anything else.

Nicely done!

All great choices.

Yeah, ROAD TRIP. Let's get the band back together. :D

You just *had* to mention ROAD TRIP, didn't you?! Now I'll never finish my job today. Sing it, Willie: ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

On the road again,
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is making music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again

I'll be singing this song all day now! :D

Great line from Firesign Theater: "We've sent your bags on ahead sir. Where is it you will be staying?"

Canned Heat anybody???

That happened to me once. "Just go in and register, sir. I'll take your bags around to the side." I believed him. I like to travel light, but not that light.

When we used to drive to Toledo, OH for the Glass City Open, I always played this song by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young: Ohio!

Jeff Livingston

This song by Canned Heat, I used to play it over and over again. I just couldn't get enough of it: "Going Up the Country."

I'm going, I'm going where the water tastes like wine.

I can remember singing this song in the car when my father would give me a ride to school: California Dreamin'

All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
on a winter's day

I'd be safe and warm
if I was in L.A
California Dreamin'
on such a winter's day

I can see this is going to be another unproductive day for JAM.

Here's another one, from Nick Danger, Third Eye: Ah, the old SAME place! You can sit here in the waiting room...or wait here in the sitting room!

Those were some funny guys! :D

BCAPL banned Carl McConnell ...FOR LIFE.

I asked this in the other forum and in a different thread, so I'll ask it here:

Carl, what color is the sky in your world?

You are the one BCAPL banned for life. Doesn't that give you a clue? Moreover, do you have any idea how much it takes to be banned by them? I hear the vote was unanimous. You are done! The very fact that you are carrying this on means Jason (and the others) have you spot on: Carl, you are a loser! All this over the membership voting to call the 9-ball, even though you also voted in favor of the rule change. I know, because I sat right beside you at the meeting.

The reason is that she (and I) devoted 3 years and a TON of hours to this league, and it's time someone else took it over. She's retiring. Regarding BCAPL, twice Mark Griffin has voiced his disappointment to me about her stepping down, as he praised her abilities and work as LO.

Thankfully, because of the ban, Carl, whoever takes over the league won't have to deal with you. So, think whatever you like, because the truth seems to have absolutely no bearing on your opinion, and no place in your distorted and twisted world.

Jason, I appreciate your sagacity and your willingness to post what you did, ....even if it's obvious. He IS a loser!

Just so the forum knows, I am the husband of the LO, the league's statistician and grunt. Mark called yesterday and mentioned Carl hadn't stopped his BS. So, I told the LO that I'd put in a word here on her behalf because she's dealt with his garbage enough. But why address this? The best action to take with someone like him is to remove his arenas. I hope the moderators of this site look at what BCAPL did, then act on their wisdom.

Read the thread and must say, you seem like a fun and engaging group. However, this is my one and only post on your forum. Good luck with him.

You know C Carl? He sounds like a real treat to be around.

Background info on the issue!

I agree the thread was about the transparency of the BCA. The post I cited from the thread is about the acquisition of the BCAPL and the actions of John Lewis after Mark Griffin took control.

It is obvious that can people be kicked out of a league for a good reason. Earl Strickland was kicked out of a tournament just recently.

Mr. McConnell didn't have a situation with you this is what happen between him and people at the BCAPL. McConnell posted his info and MG is a poster as well.

The information available are MG's posts. Do the posts suggests someone that would kick someone out of the league for making a requests? Some of MGs posts are him providing answers to unusual situations like the email spam or his hesitation on eliminating confusion about what happen to JL during the BCAPL transition period.

The fact is MG took control of BCAPL and an internal officer JL left when MG took over and formed a new organization. This is just one instance of MG's action causing someone else to withdraw or be withdrawn from an organization.

People leave organizations all the time. Sometimes by choice and other times by force. It is difficult to determine what exactly happen in the case of McConnell because of the limiting amount of information available.

I am not interested in writing off this situation as a clear case of a violation, but if it is then some of the league players that McConnell contacted would say they warned him or have complained about him behind his back. McConnell didn't mentioned his was warned. That left relating MGs posts or posts about MG like the one above to what happen as the only available tool for investigation.

What specifically about this discussion are you having a hard time with? If it is the possibility that someone else posted something questioning MG's actions as an organizational leader, then go look up the post, someone wrote it.

Is his question valid? Yes and it is related to McConnell situation because it is another instance when MGs actions may or may not have pushed someone out of an organization.

I am not saying the information on the threads are reliable but they were stated. And since McConnell is posting on the internet it seems he is interested in developing a discussion on the topic as opposed to a open and shut case. What contributions to the discussion were you interested in making?

Please allow me one more post, even though I wrote that I'd only make one and I already did.

I am the husband of the LO, the league statistician and grunt. Carl was not an active member of our league. He was a member on another league and was supposed to be on our team in our league for 9-ball. However, he quit before he played one game. Therefore, he wasn't even a member.

When he broke all this loose, he DID interfere with matches, and there was no dealing with him. After MONTHS of borderline slander and erroneous information posted right beside our league pool tables - plus numerous incidents where he would rag on our membership - there was nothing the LO could do about him.

His very first post was a 3 page document he'd badly typed, to inform our members that (paraphrasing)"...because the 'calling the 9-ball rule' wasn't in the BCAPL rule book, ...your league may not be a BCAPL sanctioned league." This immediately sent tremendous doubt through our entire membership, even to the point of a few of them questioning the integrity and trustworthiness of the LO. And that was just the start of it.

He even brought a petition around during our league play and fought to convince members sign it. In the middle of a game, as he passed me with it in his hands, I told him where to go. I was fuming! So, if that's not bothering players, especially when he isn't even a member, what is?

Over these months, it just so happened that the BCAPL had also had their fill of his BS. They too came to a cross-roads. So, since he wasn't a member of our league, and considering the LO had no recourse, Mark and Bill and the BCAPL 'powers that be' decided the best move was to simply banish him. Since this didn't stop him, they have since made it permanent ....for life. But while banning him hasn't stopped him, it has given those he's attempting to bend their ear the foundation to see this guy for who he really is; he's a troublemaker, an idiot and a loser. And that's the brunt of what happened.

Regarding BCAPL, they have been completely transparent and have demonstrated far more patience than I would have; Carl simply isn't listening. Therefore, as a member of this BCAPL sanctioned league, may I say, "Thank you, Mark and Bill! You have a fine and highly professional organization that not only listened to its LO, but bent over backwards to help ...even though his attempts are to muddy your name as well."

And justnum, to be clear, there is no other issue except that Carl doesn't like the 'Calling the 9-ball' rule our league voted in, and he's even gone so far as to threaten the league and BCAPL with legal action unless they force our league to change it back. Yet, he even helped vote it in.

The mind boggles!

I'm done.
