Times are tough for poolplayers, some even taking on JOBS to supplement what used to be a better than modest income from hustling and playing in tournaments. Mr. Hoa here, though, had no time to change clothes to make his usual Saturday tourney. Luckily, the poolhall is less than 3/4 of a mile from the Thrifty Nickel Motor Lodge where he works as a housekeeper, so he made it just in time for his first match. There were a few quizzical looks, but nary a snicker from anyone (including this reporter). I believe everyone knows how tough times are these days, and a way to make ends meet isn't a laughing matter....well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it (he IS a LARGE man)!
Keep your head down, girls, level cue, lock your back leg, bend your front leg slightly, bring your tip right up to the cue ball, take 3 or 4 warm-up strokes & shoot with a good follow through.
