Jesse Engle should have a sponsor...........

Hi there,

Jesse Engle is running around the country taking on the best players in the world wherever he can and doing it on his own bankroll and money.:yikes:

He's keeping his head above water which is really hard to do traveling and playing in tournys all over the country.:help:

His marketability right now is extreme, being that he just turned 19 years of age. There should be a whole lot of pool oriented companies wanting to sponsor a young man like this. Plus the fact that he is just a real descent clean cut kid that's never been in any kind of trouble.:grin-angelic::groucho:

But I don't think he really knows how to find sponsors or ask for one. As is the case with many young pool players out there today.:scratchhead:

I really enjoyed seeing this young man accel from a junior player to what he is doing now. Myself as well as many others have kind of tried to take him under our wing and help him as much as we could. Jesse definitely has a knack for filtering out the bad advice and just sticking with what works for him. His knowledge is so far ahead of his age.

A few sponsors would sure help allow him to reach his peak in this tough world of pool. Right now he kind of reminds me of David against Goliath or even Davey Crocket at the Alamo. He's going after some of the best players in the world.:yeah:

And it doesn't even have to be a pool related business. Just somebody that has alot of bucks that wants to be a part of something that could be very rewarding.

It's not very often that a young man such as Jesse Engle comes along with the talent and shear determination that he has at the young age of only 19.

It wasn't an accident when I predicted that Jesse would beat Earl Strickland at the US Open 9 - 11. Jesse won 10-11.

I had inside information. Kind of like insider trading but you can't get in trouble for this one.

And it wasn't an accident when the players on AZ asked me what I thought would happen when he played Mike Segal and I said Jesse would beat him. Jesse won 11-0 and played a Perfect Set.

Jesse didn't win the US Open but he was one of the biggest stories there. He's only 18 at the time. Imagine how we all played at 18. And he's just going to get better and better and better.

This young man is liable to beat anyone at anytime as he just did with Ralph Seuqet just recently.

I hope players around the country that have seen this young man play and present himself in such a proffesional way will keep bumping this thread to the top and hopefully just maybe something could possibly happen in the way of a sponsor soon.

His marketability is right now. He could be a big asset to anyone trying to bring recognition to their product. Plus it just been so much fun watching him do what he's doing. Beating some of the best players in the world.

I'll bet some of these guys feel like they got sucker punched but I assure you they were not. If Jesse beats these guys from time to time it's because he was supposed to if he plays like he can and can keep his focus. :yeah:

I also had the good fortune of meeting his parents at a tournament a few months ago. I can see why Jesse is the way he is. Very nice people and my hats off to them. All that needs to be said is great job Mom and Dad.
Your results speak for themselves with Jesse.

Tell of your experience of playing this young man and what a fierce competitor he is with also such a friendly demeanor.

I hope many of the players in Minnesota will also chime in because they know Jesse and know how special what he has done already and is doing right now is.

I'm not trying to put Jesse up on some kind of pedestal but I would like some potential sponsors to really take a good look at this young man.

I think that anyone that sponsors this young man will be pleasantly surprised in the long run.

You will get you moneys worth...........

Thanks for looking............Just trying to help..........

I think he is sponsored by Lucasi Hybrid, but that was only for their products.
Geno, I agree with you 100%. Jesse should have sponsors to promote and help this young talented pro to continue his success. Jesse is getting noticed by everyone in the pool world because of what he does. This young pro will definitely will make someone or some business some $$$$ in the years to come.

I believe that a Rose by any other name is still a Rose......with that being said, just for the record his name is ENGEL not engle. Thanks Gene for giving Jesse good props. I do know he is working with one maker of pool sticks, but no cash flow as of yet.

For what it's worth, there are many top echelon players that have done and still do the same thing that Jessie is doing right now and they don't have sponsors either.

that is weird.. You'd think that anyone doing something at a pro level would have some sort of sponsorship. Pool is a very strange sport indeed.

The dilemma....

...and now the "Perfect" solution!
Have Perfect Aim sponsor him.

They say in life that sometimes, the very best opportunities are right under your nose. What a fantastic idea by Joe_Jaguar!

Two birds can be killed with one stone in this one; Geno "helps" as he states he wants to, and Jesse gets a sponsor. Sounds like the "Perfect" relationship to me!

Speaking from the perspective of someone who has sponsored pool players in the past, I can tell you how I personally make decisions about player reps. When I look for a spokesperson, I am looking at it purely from an ROI perspective. For me, a player sponsorship is the same as any other marketing expenditure in that the expense needs to bring in a certain level of sales to justify the cost.

Whether I'm spending money on print ads, TV, event sponsorship, online ads or any other form of marketing and promotion, if I can't see the path to a positive ROI, I don't spend the money. In the case of sponsorship, I care more about how someone will be promoting our brand and how they plan to get people to my website rather than how many tournaments a person wins.

That being said, the requirements for each sponsor will differ, which is why it is important to understand the needs of each potential sponsor prior to making a pitch. A cue maker might see far more value in sponsoring a player who has won high profile events, but for me, it is always about getting people to my website.

I do believe, that he is no longer using their products.........went back to using what he loves shooting with.

He should be encouraged to get an education of some sort beyond high school as pool is not a very lucrative career choice and even if it is you have been on the road all the time. I don't know why somebody would pursue a career in pool

Having a lucrative career isn't the key to happiness

Jesse is a great player just wish I could win to loto only way I could help. :sorry:

Mike of pool dawg makes a very relevant statement. It really is all about return on investment. Has this young man taken any classes in public speaking? Is he articulate and personable? Does he have the desire to self promote and seek out exposure. Does he have positive public exposure already, perhaps sharing of his talents and abilities in some charitable fashion. Winning alone doesn't always make one a marketable commodity.
I have no reason to doubt the young mans worthiness of sponsorship or his character, I'm sure prospective sponsers would ask these and many other questions......Dan

I have been watching Jesse's progress in the last year at several tournaments. First of all, he is an outstanding young man who carries himself with the maturity of a much older man. He's obviously had a very good upbringing. He is a great asset to represent American pool in the future. That would go for any potential sponsors as well. You couldn't find a better representative this side of Shane Van Boening. In other words, Jesse is a credit to the sport.

And speaking of Shane, this young man is ahead of him in talent at a similar age. He, along with Mike Dechaine, are the two emerging young talents in American pool. Oscar Dominguez is another terrific young American pool talent. Jesse WILL WIN out here, and soon! You can take my word on that. He has all the tools, both mentally and physically, to make that happen.

Any company that hooks up with Jesse Engel will not be disappointed in the way he represents them. If I was looking for a young player to carry my banner, he would be my first choice!

By the way Jesse, if you read this and ever need anybody to stake you in ANY tournament, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to do that. That's how much I think of your game.

Nice Post Jay! With no hidden agenda for giving Jesse such praise. But be careful on what you say, because I will now make sure that Jesse reads this...lol

if he spent some time writing letters to celebrities and some rich business people he would get some sponsorship money in no time, there are a lot of rich famous people who love pool and love staking players. I don't know why more players don't do it, maybe it's a pride thing and they feel like they are begging, but it works.
