I got this at the show... it's a beaut.. Szamboti forearm, lotta pearl, 3 shafts, all over 4 oz, full shafts... 29"

Refinished and rewrapped by Steve Klein...

For those that never heard of Fedunka. He made cues in NJ, during the 60's, 70's and early 80's. He had a hand deformity, and it made it very difficult for him to make cues. He made them with Karl Meyer, with Paradise, I am not sure if he toiled in the Palmer shop.
His cues are mostly conversions from either housecues, titlists, butterfly cues, and Szamboti blanks. When he started his cues were just like Palmers, name foil, etc.. by the 80's he was emulating Gus Szamboti. As the cue above shows, his designs were moving away from the Palmer style cue. Total production somehwere around 300-400. My uncle knew him very well and my first cue ever was a sneaky pete he made for my uncle.

Sweet cue Joe. I dunno but the double veneered joint collars do it for me. Overall very very classy cue.

I lived and played pool in NJ during those years and was familar with all the above cue makers but I never heard of Fedunka.

Before Mike moved to the Toms River area, he lived in Rahway. From what I can remember my uncle telling me he used to run into him at Ash's place. (HiCue) at Lori Jons in GreenBrook and the Four Seasons. I think he retired and moved even before the West End events.

Fedunka

That's a pretty sweet cue. It actually reminds me a lot of Steve's work as well. I really like the green veneers and how he used them as simple rings on the shafts. It's subtle but unique. Sometimes less is more.
 
Some really great shaft wood...

291/2 in lg and all 4.2 oz or better. All pretty full. Butt was 27 1/2" lg and 1.318 diameter in the back end and .835 diameter at the joint.

Weird dimensions...

I took this cue out last night and dry hit some balls (no chalk), and as I expected that great solid sound resonated through. Must be the shafts being 35 yrs old or so but just rock solid.

In the long term I probably could not adjust to the oversize butt dimension, but this cue hits very stiff.

chalk it up and play wwith it

the cue looks great if you don't like it,put up a price
surely i am not the only one who like old cues
this is a nice one,and the story makes for more fun

BTW this cue hits real solid.

I also found out that Mike Fedunka passed away in 1995 at the age of 81..

Joe, tHats the only other Fedunka I have evr seen....it's a beauty

I have been playing with mine for about 4 months now, haven't noticed anything about the butt diameter
