This cue was not bought from some hack. He sent me the electronic shipping invoice. I will see what the post office says in the morning. If they are planning on keeping the cue, then I am planning on knowing what other options there are. This is BS. The guy is a member of the ACA. Maybe they can mediate. I don't know. John

"I don't know" being the operative phrase here.
The ACA isn't going to take responsibility here.
The USPS isn't going to take responsibility here.
We have only your side of the story here, but if its accurate, cue shipping with a couple of sheets of paper as "protection", no bubble etc. The responsible party is the cue maker/shipper. You may be having some trouble getting him to see the light, but trying to make and organization responsible or trying to get the USPS insure for negligent wrapping is just grasping at straws.
And I'm sorry, and again, only one side of the story, but if your cue maker sent you your brand new cue under protected and it got dinged in transit, and he refuses to do what sounds like a simple spot touch on your finish, then he is a hack.
There is nobody at your PO that can cut you a check. They process the paperwork and make sure its complete, and pass it down the line, that's their job. Let me give you two tips, if you deviate from their paperwork at all, try to get them to see how a copy is just as good as the original for example, you are sunk. Tip number two, no insurance company will pay out past their level of responsibility and that's why the PO demands that the entirety of the shipment, including all packing materials be brought to them for evaluation. You have already evaluated the quality of this guys packing, other than being hopeful, why would you expect the people that you are asking to pay to feel any different?
If you want satisfaction here, you have to deal with the responsible party. Otherwise, find a local guy to repair the cue, pay and forget it, everything else will just be aggravation and no satisfaction and no cue.
Good luck with it.
