Ok, so now that I have your attention....

I really didn't win the lottery. Sorry, but no free cues! :p

The reason I'm posting this is to see what people would really buy if they had the opportunity to buy one cue. This is a value excerise and there is a lot you can buy for $4K so please take a minute to think about what maker's cue you would buy and why would you choose that maker over all the others. Keep in mind this is a hypothetical situation so the normal rules don't apply. What I mean by that is any cue you could want IS available for sale at current secondary market value. For example, you could by a plain cue from one of the current "in demand" makers or you could buy a loaded cue from a very good maker.

Here's the criteria:

You can only buy one cue.

You can never sell it.

The value of the cue you are buying is directly related to todays market. So no, you can't buy a Gus for what they sold for when he was alive. ;)

You have to play with it for at least the next year so yes, playability is a factor as well as how the cue looks.

If you don't spend the whole $4K, you don't get the difference in cash. ;)

So post it up. What would you buy if you had the chance?

As far as the cue goes, I would get $4k worth of Tascarella. Should be enough to get a steel joint with a couple of inlays.

I kind of feel like I just lost a few thousand.

I will say that if I did win the lottery I would have no hesitation sending you $4K to buy a cue. I always enjoy your posts/good attitude. :thumbup:
 
Couple of years ago I started a thread , " Free Joint Protectors , tommarro . I really got a lot of Hate Mail . I think there are people that still hate me . Some never figured it out . Now its your turn .

My cue would be Richard Black . That was not a easy decition , there are so many Great cue builders . Thanks Jim
 
Lawsuit Coming

To avoid a lawsuit for false advertising and avoid an AZ class action suit, court costs, and lawyer fees, I will settle for my $4000 cue. Every one else is on their own. I want my Mike Cochran back.

I remember that thread Jim. I thought it was kinda funny. I do remember some folks getting a little upset though.

Nice choice in a cue though.
 
Could you bump it up to 60K so I can buy the Meucci Gambler prototype on Ebay?

A real pool player would get a buddy to sell him a cue send you the bill for 4000.00 and then split 4000.00 with his buddy.:wink:

There was a pic of an Ebony bumperless/wrapless Hoppe with blue veneers made by Tascarella, not sure what it would be worth but if it was 4k or less I'd grab it in a heartbeat. That cue was just drop dead gorgeous!

I would use it all those times on guys that get mad when you run the table and just storm away thinking that you are a cheater. :thumbup:


But, what I would get is the Dufferin 18 oz Green leaf Snooker Cue. The same kind that I use to borrow from my father when he wasn't looking, to help with getting lunch money during College.
 
I'D "BUY" MY TASCARELLA PLAYING CUE FOR A SECOND TIME. I'M NOT SURE 4k COULD GET THIS CUE OUT OF MY HANDS, BUT IT'S IN THE BALLPARK. IT'S THE BEST PLAYING CUE I'VE EVER HAD.
