Looking for a Showman cue. Would prefer a Hoppe or a plain 4 point player. Nothing fancy. Might be interested in buying a spot if the price was right. Please P.M. with details. Thanks.

Anybody willing to sell there spot???

i didnt realize that he even had SPOTS......gl i have been trying to have a cue made by him for several years...so as far as i know he doesnt have a list or spots avaliable....your best bet would be to buy one on the secondary market....

Orders

I spoke to someone at his shop the other day

There is a list, 8years min

There are spots, which can be obtained from them or someone else from cancellations. or if the secondary market has one-BUY IT ASAP

Thanks for the few replies that I did get. They were both for Titlists cues. Anybody else got a Showman for sale?

Here is my e-mail back from them. I hope it helps.

Dear Rod,

Thank you for your request.
Yes , it is now taking 8 years to get a cue made by John Showman.
The way you can get on the list is:

1- You mentioned you want a "hoppe style" cue but we still would want as many as possible
specifications on your design wishes...1st your design.

2- We will send you a quote that is a range on the price based on minimum and the maximum we think the cue will
cost you at the time ...because we don't know in 8 years what is going to happen...
Also we will require a small deposit to get you in our schedule. Later on (around the 7th year)we will send you a more time realistic cost of your cue.
2nd a deposit.

3- 8 years is a long time and we do not take many orders because we realize it is really a long time to wait...3rd a lot patience

We appreciate your business.
Billiardly yours,
Marylane Showman

I sent them a sketch and everything (order) over a year ago. She told me she would get back with me, etc. They told me 5 years last year when I spoke with them for a new cue. Then never returned emails or anything after. I took their hint.. :(

colin sounds real familar......i got the exact same response....and did the same things you did.....i finally after over 2 years have taken there hint also....the only bonus to this is i have found several cuemakers that make great cues with less of a wait.... and if i ever get a showman i will just buy it on the secondary market...

Hey Buddy,you can take mine.
My Zinzola are NOT here, send to the wrong Address(believe????):(:(:(
Ralf

wow that sucks ralf....any info on the zinzola cue? did they ship it back to the states? or is it lost? hey ralf not really looking for a titlist cue...i had a chance to buy one of the three when tom got them from john...i like johns work and he has allways been nice to me....i guess he is just very busy with working on orders from the last 6 to 10 years.....i would much rather have someone not take my order if they dont ever see being able to finish it....so i guess a favor was done so i am not mad about it....some cuemakers are just so busy or work another job that it doesnt hurt my fellings at all to be denied....as we know there are plenty of great cuemakers out there to choose from....gl on getting your cue i hope it works out well....mickey

Spend few hundreds of bucks (as you intend to spent loads of them for a cue), take the plane, go to the Showman's place and i'm 110% sure that there will be a ready cue for you. This "waiting list" thing is getting very annoying. I know that the TOP cue maker in the world (and you know exactly to whom i'm referring to) has no waiting list and my best friend got his own design in 2 months. As simple as that. And as a side note, for the oldies in here, once a guy posted a cue from a HUGE cuemaker -who has 8-10 years waiting list- and along with cue photos he posted the order slip. Nothing on his order matched the final outcome, with serious deviations (sth like 0.50-0.75ox difference). And i'm asking: is it worth to wait so long, give enormous amounts of money and get something different of what you had planned to?

????
Maybe I'm the only one confused here but what TOP cuemaker can crank out an all original cue in two months from start to finish??? I would be deeply concerned about integrity issues ie warpage, glue curing and finish curing.

So what's wrong with a waiting list, many cuemakers have them and what is the purpose of a deposit, maybe it's to weed out those whose sole intent is to flip a cue without any expenditure. If you already have a playing cue what is the big deal on getting any other cue, I've got a few cues on order and if and when I get them should they play better than my current cue it will be "retired" and I'll play with the one I like better and should I not get ANY of them who cares, I have a cue to play with. Sure it would be nice to get them but if it doesn't happen QUE SERA!! And I’m absolutely sure that John doesn’t have cues laying about for the “high rollers” who may wander through.

You are really suggesting going to someones place of work and extorting a product out of them? Why? Because someone is too impatient to wait and work with the person?

Unbelievable.......
