I'm done.

Send me the plans, dude! That is awesome. I LOVE IT! :D

Bob, that could be a pool cue holder as well. LOL All i could see was the fishing rods. LOL

Actually, I googled "Fishing pole made from a pool cue" (in an effort to stay in keeping with your dilemma) and clicked on images and it popped up. After your response I went to see if there were any plans -- no such luck. I did find several places selling them ranging from $168 to $188 (by just clicking the pics on). One of those sites said "Sold" -- wonder if the purchaser plays pool?

I'll look for a little bit more and if I find anything I'll "post up".

Hey Joey,

I got out on on the lake just yesterday. Only caught 10 though (largemouth bass). Been slackin' on my fishing since I got to shooting pool leagues 3 nights a week. Now, no more leagues for me. Got burnt-out on them. Gonna be chunkin'-and-reelin' a lot more now.

Weird thing is, i just sold BOTH of my motorcycles. Gonna get me (and the little lady) a couple of ATV's for our property in East Texas.

So, I've been making a couple of hobby changes. I hope that everything works out for you, my friend. If I could shoot pool like you can, I'd NEVER slack off of it.

Stay well!!!

TEN? That is nothing to sneeze at.

One of our local, YOUNG, poolplayer's is recovering from a motorcycle accident. AFter 6 months he is able to get around OK... No motorcycles for me anymore. Too many people in the cities. They ride right over the top of you..............from the back, going the same darn direction as you.

Hi there Joey,

I know what you mean.

I'm parked up here in Appleton, Wi building up a bankroll to get a nice motorhome. I'm not playing at all right now and it almost seems like life has came to a stop without much pool.

Up here in Wisconsin I don't know how the poolhalls survive in the summer. But I don't blame the people up here. They're couped up all winter and then comes this great summer weather.

For me it's the calm before the storm. In a few months it will be traveling, playing and teaching again.

Can't wait to get on the road again.

You'll get that itch real bad again. We just can't help it. It's just the way it is with this game.

Have a great summer. geno..............

..............Pool has become almost a chore, ever since DocHutch started me back on the fishing. I've always loved fishing a great deal. It's been in my blood for a long, long time. We haven't really started hammering the fish just yet. Too much wind, which means dirty water, which means less bites.

We've caught some fish but after a couple of more trips I will be dialed in on the fishies and will put a hurt on them................................

JoeyA, just a whinin'.

I see it now...... Smorg is smilin'.....

timely thought...

Good for you, Joey.

And funny you should bring this up.

All of my buddies know that my priorities shift from springtime through fall so I can get my fishing fix.

Just this past Sunday, my very close fishing pal got a state record fish that he's been chasing for over 15 years.

I have a unique fishing rig that I believe would put a smile on your face. I'll bet it would be a hit in the waters down by you (bayou). Hint: US Army hd alum hull, 455 Olds, Jet drive w/220 foot roostertail. ;) :)

If you, or any other az friends, ever find yourselves someplace near CT during fishing season, get in touch and I'll be happy to show you some of our beautiful sanctuary waters and inland lakes.

It's a great thing, IMO, to have an equally pleasurable diversion to pool, such as fishing.

Tight lines!

Best,
Brian kc

There must be something in the new lots of chalk they sent all over the county. In the last few weeks I've gone from playing 4 hours a day to maybe 1 hour...if at all some days. We decieded to stay in the house in Florida when my wife retires in August. I finished remodeling the master bath today. Put all new in it. Sink was a **tch to finish. At 70 my body refuses to get in those twisted positions like it did when younger. I figure one room a week for 8 weeks and then I'll think about having a room built on for pool. As of right now I'd say I won't. I just feel like I'm done with pool. Johnnyt

So far this year Ive spent 750 getting my table acting right and have played maybe 3 hrs..... but I did spend countless hrs getting my kids to their tae kwon do 3 times a week, speed skating on sat and sun and to their games and practices. they were on seperate baseball teams this year... not to mention a lawn service company in western Washington I own and operate...... Let see 10:30 and ive been out of my work close for 1 hr.

Just keep tabs on it, Joey. I've been in that funk for 12 years now. I've had little spurts here and there where I'd get back for a few weeks but it never fails, I've not gotten back to playing all the time like I used to.

Good lord Brian! With a rooster tail like that, we could bathe all of the fishermen we passed. That would be a hoot. I'm kind of curious. At fast speeds, you do have a tough time making short cuts with that flat bottom, don't you? I know the jet drive is AWESOME for shallow waters and we've got lots of shallow water down here in the marsh but I was wondering if the jet drive helps or impedes making sharp turns (compared to traditional outboard drives). That is some pretty engine you have there.

Maybe I will have to take some pics of my boat and post them. Cool PICS!

Johnnyt, you're still going strong. I just finished insulating my son's master bath so now, we're at the stages of seeing all of the pretty stuff go into effect. I'm kind of curious as to when the pool thing will kick back in for you. Like you, I'll probably still play regularly, just not as often as I usually do.

Going fishin' in the morning.

Well, Joey, I know we've had our disagreements in the past (that CTE thing), but you're a good guy, and a credit to this forum. I especially appreciated your kind words regarding the Joplin disaster.
I feel much like you, especially this time of year. The poolhall is deserted. Most everyone's either out on the golf course, gone fishing, or out of town. Things seem kind of flat.
Enjoy what you can of the summer. Most of us will be here when you get back. :)

Joey baby, we've all been there. I couldn't tell you how many times I've put my cue away for months or longer. But I always come back to pool, it is my lifetime love. I will always be a pool player if I never hit another ball. The beauty of pool is that it is always there for you, waiting for your return.

I went to the old pool hall yesterday (House of Billiards) in Santa Monica. It is the One Pocket room of L.A. AMAZING, all my old buddies are there just like I left them. And still playing too! I find it hard to believe how they stick with it day after day. It inspires me to play again. I feel guilty that I rarely play and yet they all accept me back instantly. So many people say nice things to me and make me feel welcome.

I know in my heart that I will play again. I just don't know when. I hit some balls yesterday for maybe 45 minutes. It felt funny, you know the feeling when you are out of stroke. I hate that, but I know that in a few days I will feel good again and the balls will start to fall. Then I'm hooked again for the millionth time! :D

Betcha will!! I no longer say I'm quitting, haven't done it in about 20 years or so. I've always come back to it, even if I can't play a lick:grin:
