In all these posts there are 4 nits. Guys that come on just to poke at somebody else. You, lorider, ccshrimper and the mysteryman cnypool. What kind of fault would that indicate in your characters? That you feel the need to comment on me and now elevate to insulting me?
Maybe guys as perfect at you don't belong with the type of people that frequent pool halls. Would hate for you to break a window in that glass house of yours.
So I guess it's a no on being a sub for cnypool?

But the way I read your original post now, it seems like you were more than likely shaking in your shoes when the 'punk' decided to throw a fist. Something tells me that your account of the incident "ain't exactly the way it went down".

And more than likely, your teammates and the patrons in the host location told you the same thing myself and a few others have. You antagonized the situation when you wanted to play for $500.
So you came on here to try and validate yourself by starting a thread with A MUST READ STORY included in the title. And you got the same answers here that you did in person.
Re-read the thread. Quite a few members were in your corner until you dropped that tidbit about trying to bet with the guy that hit you. And then many more members weighed in on the fact that you tried to basically shark your opponent with that bet.

You are right I couldn't kick anybody's ass, even in self defense. Just too much to lose for me. I have a pretty decent job and a license to lose. Without that it would be the breadline for me.
As far as challenging people to play yes all the time. It's pool for christ's sake what should you do? And certainly if they are being nitty it's all the more reason to bet, just alot higher. Why do people think gambling and pool don;t go together like milk and cookies? Probably because they have no game and no money, just my 2 cents.
I'll let you all know how the tournament goes, it will be a blast no matter what. I'll be sure to send you all a postcard, just PM me your name and addresses. And yes now I am done with this thread, let the nits take it over and then it can go back into obscurity where it belongs.

I have posted a few times in this thread with all respect. Regardless of what happened physical altercations have no place or excuse in pool or life in general in my opinion.
I will however add the more you reply to the ones asking the other side you are arrogantly overboard. Slamming a lower skill level for playing in the masters to obviously try and improve their game is quite LOW. I get the assumption that you like to pick on the lesser players as you stated the masters division you are playing in is a weaker division and you are from another county, and the team you beat for the trip was basically 4's & 5's. I might suggest if you play as well as you think you do maybe you should challenge some guys in NY that are more your speed then picking on the little fish. I'm sure you can find some players in NY to match you, I hear it isn't too shabby of a state for competition.
You also may want to go in the practice room in Vegas and offer an open challenge to any APA leaguer there, you might find someone who can play a little even though they are in the APA and likely inferior to you.
I have always looked at leagues as a satisfaction to make others around me better rather then try and degrade or crush the lesser skilled. Maybe that is just me, but in the 28 years I have been around this game I have never had a problem anywhere I have played and I have played in a lot of places and dives. Karma can be a good thing or bad, all depending on what you choose to make of it.

I remember several month ago there was a thread he started trying to warn other people of a possible scammer. Turns out the other party sent him $ for a custom cue and then would also pay for a mcdermott later. After he received the $ and it was cleared on PayPal, he ordered the McDermott then the buyer wasn't satisfied with how long it took the seller to ship it, and requested the $ back thru PayPal. I believe there was a breakdown in communication due to the buyer being from overseas. I think he started that thread after his acct was frozen because he wouldn't refund the money and he had already ordered the mcdermott. When he started the thread he left out some details. I believe he said he wouldnt refund or ship the cues until he was compensated for the McDermott at it retail price. Some said it was extortion, and that what he was spin is wrong. That's when people told him to refund the $ and sell the McDermott to someone else. The thread is now hidden and the overseas buyer banned.

It is clear to me that you also where in fault and by no means want to recognize it. It is hard to agree of committing a mistake on a public forum, it requires from a person being humble in heart and open to others opinions, which obviously you are not. It was a smart move to use the word "probably" to start the second part of the above quote, because I can tell you that although I have "no game", I have PLENTY of money. I have made a choice to simply not gamble it away. There is not one game or sport in this world that HAS to be bet on. If people choose to do so, it is their business (where legal, or else it becomes someone elses business), but many others in this world do just fine in life by simply playing a game/sport for the pure joy of it. It makes me sick whenever I read that it's not "real pool" unless you are betting something on the outcome. No way to prove it, but imo there are probably more persons that DON'T gamble on pool as there are ones that do, and I truly believe they are playing "real" pool AND enjoying themselves.
In ten pages you've gone from posting a bad APA experience to belittling lower skill-leveled players and non-gamblers, and calling those that disagree with you "nits".

Was going to zip my lip, but this obvious mischaracterization needs clarification now:
If you only knew what you were talking about. She was a scammer and was seeking dozens of high-end cues from AZ members simultaneously. No doubt "she" wasn't even a girl anyway. The AZ police knew what she was doing and banned her, period. Her money was returned once the situation was controlled and she could not burn me or anyone else.
But tell it your way becuase everything is open to interpretation right?
