APA in Fulton NY A MUST READ STORY

Just4fun...and your reason for waiting 16 pages of threads to tell us this? This should have been post #2 in this thread, and it would have died then.

Maybe I shouldn't be posting this since it seems this has started to fade away. I simply thought a little bit of clarification could be used. Since Master9Baller isn't available to reply I won't go into the great detail I was initially thinking might be required.

I am local to the Syracuse, NY area and know both the OP and the LO. I can tell you that the OP has a reputation of always running his mouth during matches and has an unflattering nickname based on his last name that reflects his actions when playing pool. The LO has a good reputation in the area. Certainly some people dislike him and Master9baller is now part of that group. The LO is retired military, Air Force I think.

Master9Baller has told some flat out lies here, a lot of them. He states he has no reason to lie. I disagree - his reason would be to make himself look better and to deflect blame from where it belongs. Make no mistake about my view, I don't think he should have been hit for a pool game even if it was an open handed slap to the side of the head/ear.

One lie is that the LO made a ton of money on the masters league. If you played in the league then you know how much you paid in every week and then you know how much you are getting back if you win. Easy math for almost all of us. The facts are - that masters division generated $2520 total and paid back $2090 + $150 entry fee for a total of $2240. 88% return! Then how much did APA get and how much did the LO get? I don't know the split, I just know they had $280 to split between the 2 of them for 14 weeks worth of league play. Those numbers are facts not fiction. The false numbers may have been created in an attempt to gain support.

Another lie is that the LO has business associates on the other team. The LO is a Syracuse player and has no business associates on any teams. At least none that I am aware of. I play in the league so if it was known that he has partners I think I would be aware of it. The closest thing to a business associate is that 1 of the players is a Division Rep for a 8 or maybe 9 ball division. Oh, another 1 of the players is a bar owner that has league play so maybe that's it?

I was around when the LO was asking some questions about this event. It was rumored that the OP called the female parole officer a derogatory name. (see post #212 for the name). I heard the LO state he doubted that, as the OP was a Nurse and would not stoop that low. All I have to say about that is the LO gave him too much credit. Again see post # 212, the OP obviously calls people that name. If anyone calls my wife that name I can assure you I will do more than give them an open handed slap.

This is in no way everything that I see wrong with the telling of the story through the eyes of the OP. I am simply trying to say there is more than 1 side and the OP's side is very much innacurate. It's like one of those TV shows that is losely based on facts.

Brian Lipes, is a fish.

The team as a whole may have had a chance my friend, but none of them did with me. My record in match play was 16-0. That's pretty strong right? With an average score 7-3.

If I did anything more to egg the guy on I'd say it here. Do you question my honesty? I have no reason to lie.

Even if I had egged on the beligerant idiot there is no excuse to hit anybody when they shake your hand. The APA policy states loss of tournament period there is no excuse for using physical violence.

Yet the reason you got hit, is because your attitude sucks, and no one in Syracuse likes you. Brian I have told you time and time again, that the world hates you, so just go away. So you had a few bangers on the forum stick up for you once, big deal, I am sure you are pleased as punch.

The fact remains, you are an idiot, who no one likes, and you think your cool because people on AZ Forums talk to you. This was not a must read story, as soon as I read the first few lines I figured out where it was going to end, because you think you are all that, and a bag of chips. Well you’re not. You’re a ZERO in life, and always will be.

While your banning balls around in NY I am in Florida hanging out with the best pool players in the world, and yes, you still are jealous that I have friends who are real pool players and you are hanging out in a joke of a pool room that I wouldn't even walk in to.

You think because you’re a NURSE that you are all that, and at the end of the day your still a sad sack, who plays, "OK" pool. And you write this story and make up some of it I am sure. Weren't you the one that threatened me with physical harm? Yea I think that was you, because your so big and bad, that I wouldn’t know what hit me.

Now don’t respond with “I’ll play you for $500 BS, because every time you bark at me, and change the game. Remember I am still waiting for you to play me in the original game you said you’d give me, 10 ball 6 out, I will take that game to take your money and laugh at you.” Now I don’t need the 6 out, but you’re the dummy who offered it. Pretty dumb for a guy who claims he is sooo smart. When frankly I would probably beat you even, don’t know? You better ask somebody.

I love Syracuse. Is this the pool room in downtown Syracuse, the old-fashioned one with the wooden lockers and the soda fountain, or is this Salt City Billiards?

Upstate New York has a strong pool community. Good place to play pool.

Carry on with the other colloquy. I just wanted to throw a good memory of Syracuse in the thread! :p

Scott, as Stumpie71 stated, I am new to this site as a member. I have come to it once in a while for research purposes, other than that I am not much of a forum type person. Someone pointed this post out to me and thought I should comment since I knew a little bit about what happened and a little bit about the OP & LO.

I really would like to see this fade into oblivion as this really is a train wreck.

I just read most of this thread again trying to see what I could respond to with facts or at least solid information from other people involved. My opinion for what it's worth - 1 thing is that this match was played in a pool hall. The OP seems to want all to believe the "fight" was in a bar with some drunks. It was in a pool hall, the police responded and ultimately allowed all of the players to drive away. Now my opinion on this is that even if I am friends with the police, they are not going to let me drive away drunk from a scene that is now on record that they responded to. At a minimum they will make someone else drive me away or take me themselves. If I leave there and get into an alcohol related accident then they are now in trouble. Not saying the other players hadn't been drinking. Just saying there is a difference between drinking a few beers and being obnoxiously drunk. Again, just my opinion!

The "fight" involved the OP getting slapped 1 time. No marks, no bruising, no scratches, etc, etc. Yes, the other person tried and wanted to do more but couldn't because it was broken up that quickly.

As I said I play in the league locally and think it is horrible that the OP can't go to Vegas. On the same token I believe you can't forego a punishment because the timing is bad for the offender. I have played in the leagues here for many years and we have been through several LO's. The current LO is doing a pretty good job and a fantastic job compared to the last LO. We have a lot more money returned to the players in the form of trophies, prizes, trips to Vegas and the like. I think he sends some players to Vegas on a random basis just to get the experience. I haven't won 1 of those random trips but I know a player that has.

BTW - The latest rumor on the street is the OP was punched more than once just the other day in a different pool hall for the same type of antics. This time it had nothing to do with league play, league players, alcohol or bars. He was once again in a pool hall and using his mouth the distract his opponent.

For those of you that have decided to play him in Vegas for money......be ready for the other part of his game!

+1.

I think if the OP didn't go off the deep end he would have found that Eric is actually a GREAT guy and true friend to those he considers a friend.

Koop - friend of E

And he throws a mean uppercut which was said in another thread as he took out a guy holding 2 hotdogs at the SBE and was banned for a while. Something tells me he would like to give one to master9baller instead of slap to head. :D

LOL...yeah he does.

Koop - glad he's on Eric's good side :D

I believe you made a mistake, combining 'cross to bear' and 'axe to grind'

This mistake gave the thread a whole new life...

It had jumped the shark, but now there is some fresh blood in the writing...

And, no, I don't have an axe to bear... Or a cross to grind for that matter...

Anyone else thinking of "The Exorcist"...??

.

It is always kind of sad when one person posts under a different account supporting their original posts...as if it isn't obvious and pathetic.

People take the internet and forums wayyyyy too seriously. If you get banned in an argument, instead of acting like an obsessed loser and making bogus accounts to continue the stupid argument, just use the banning as a perfect opportunity to step away from the internet/forum/whatever for awhile. Lots of better things to do than continue a dumb internet argument that got you banned. :)

The really frustrating part about this train wreck is, I read the first couple posts and didn't see it again for three weeks. I'm pretty sure I could've corrected a couple inaccurate responses right when they showed up instead of Brian seeing them and "flying off the handle".

One of the statements that jumped out at me was that the story of the racks themselves changed. I forget who posted it, it was 15 pages ago, but the idea was "you said you ran 7 racks in a row, but then you said he ran to the 7 and left you the 8 for the win, so your story changed." At around that point in the thread people started calling him a liar.

Explanation: Brian's opponent broke and ran the first rack. The second rack, he broke and ran to the 7, leaving Brian the 8 to set up the win in the second rack. This is the point at which his opponent burped loudly during his backstroke, and Brian missed and told him to shut up and play pool, or whatever the precise wording was. This began the first 15 minute interlude of arguing and threatening, after which his opponent broke and Brian won the next 7 racks.

Another statement was that Brian decided not to mention in his official statement to the APA that he had made a "$500 from here" bet at his opponent's break.

Explanation: In other posts through the thread, Brian stated that he and his opponent were going back and forth with taunts about gambling prior to the 3rd break. The third break was the first time anyone actually pulled any money out. He said "you don't mean it", the money was put away, and nobody said anything about it the rest of the match. He didn't mention gambling at all in the official statement, because both players would've been found at fault for it and nobody actually gambled. As far as he was concerned, the gambling comment wasn't the point.

There was something else, too, but I can't remember it and I just lost the last hour of my life reading this trainwreck again. Anyway ask somebody for clarification before calling them a liar. Sometimes they misspoke, sometimes you misread it.
